Troubleshooting
How to fix Congstar not working
Congstar is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:
Your browser tries to reach congstar.de over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
Refresh Congstar mobile data
On iPhone, open Settings > Cellular and turn Cellular Data off, wait 10 seconds, then turn it on. On Android with stock menus, open Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > congstar and switch Mobile data off and on.
Use automatic Telekom selection
Congstar uses the Telekom mobile network in Germany, so a manual network pick can leave the phone stuck on a bad registration. On iPhone, open Settings > Cellular > Network Selection and turn on Automatic; on Samsung, use Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Network operators > Select automatically.
Clean up meincongstar
If the app opens but balances or booked options stay blank, switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data, or from mobile data to Wi-Fi. On iPhone, open Settings > General > iPhone Storage > meincongstar > Offload App, then reinstall it; on Android with stock menus, use Settings > Apps > meincongstar > Storage & cache > Clear cache.
Reset the Congstar network profile
The reset can remove saved Wi-Fi networks and VPN settings, so keep your Wi-Fi password nearby. On iPhone, open Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings; on Pixel or stock Android, open Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth. If you use a Congstar eSIM, do not delete the eSIM profile as a test.
While Congstar is down: what to use instead
- MeinCongstar app If the website will not load, try the app to check invoices, booked options, and contract details.
- Website customer area If the app hangs or sign in fails, use the account area in a browser and avoid the saved app session.
- Wi-Fi and messenger calls If mobile data or calls fail, join a trusted Wi-Fi network and use WhatsApp, Signal, or FaceTime until the mobile connection comes back.
- Second SIM If you have a work phone, dual SIM, or prepaid backup with another provider, use it for calls and data while the main line has trouble.

What happens when Congstar goes down
Congstar is a German telecom brand for mobile plans, prepaid service, home internet, and account management through the congstar app. People rely on it for phone service and mobile data in Germany, so an outage can interrupt calls, messages, logins, and payments.
Mobile data often shows trouble first: pages hang, chat apps stop sending, speed tests fail to start, and the phone still shows signal. Voice and SMS can keep working during a data issue, but in a wider mobile network fault calls may not connect and texts may arrive late. The congstar app and customer area may block sign-in, fail to show data use, reject top-ups, or leave option changes pending. Faults are often regional or limited to one part of the service, so a SIM in Hamburg can behave differently from home internet at the same address.

Is Congstar down right now?
The status at the top of this page shows whether user problem reports for Congstar are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Why does my Congstar mobile data show LTE or 5G but pages will not load?
Start with the boring checks, because they fix a lot: flight mode for 10 seconds, then a full phone restart. If calls work but data does not, check whether mobile data is enabled for that SIM and whether your data option still has usable volume in the congstar app or MeinCongstar. A local Telekom network issue can also affect it, so compare with another Congstar or Telekom SIM nearby if possible.
Why can I not log in to MeinCongstar or the congstar app?
If the login page hangs, shows a general error, or sends you back to the start, try the website and the app separately. Clear the app cache, update the app, and test on mobile data instead of Wi-Fi, since some home routers or DNS settings can make the login flow fail. If password reset mail does not arrive, check the address on the account and wait a bit before requesting another one.
Why is my prepaid top-up or booked option not visible in the congstar app?
Prepaid changes can take a short while to appear, so close the app and open it again before booking the same option twice. Check MeinCongstar in a browser as well, because the app can lag while the account system has the newer balance. If the money left your bank or voucher balance but the option is still missing later, keep the payment proof and contact Congstar support through its official channels.
My Congstar SIM activation or number transfer is stuck. Is that an outage?
It can be, but activation and porting also depend on identity checks, the old provider, and the planned transfer date. If the app or website accepts the request but the SIM still has no service, restart the phone and test it in an area with known Telekom coverage. For a ported number, calls and SMS can be patchy during the changeover, while mobile data may recover sooner or later depending on the account state.
