How to fix Blogger not working

Blogger is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Your browser tries to reach blogger.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

Open Blogger in a private window
In Chrome, click the three-dot menu, then New Incognito window. Sign in with the same Google account and open the post you were editing; if Save or Publish works here, an extension or stored cookie is the problem.
Sign out of Blogger then back in
Click your profile picture in the top right of the dashboard, choose Sign out, and sign back in with the account that owns the blog. A stale session can loop the editor or send you back to the sign-in page. Open Posts and publish a draft after you return.
Switch the Blogger editor to HTML view
Open the post in the editor. Click the HTML view tab next to Compose, copy the post text somewhere safe, then switch back to Compose and try Save again. If the editor still stalls, paste the text into a new post.
Clear cookies and site data
Open Chrome, click the three-dot menu, then Settings, Privacy and security, Delete browsing data, and pick Cookies and other site data. Clear it. Sign back in to Blogger; this removes saved preferences, so you may need to set your comment and publishing options again.

Draft in Google Docs If the post editor won't load or keeps failing to save, write in Google Docs and paste the text into Blogger once the editor works again, so a lost autosave doesn't cost you the draft.

Fix: Clear your browser's cache and cookies, or try accessing Blogger in an Incognito window to rule out extension conflicts. You can also temporarily disable any third-party firewalls that might block Google services.

Fix: Clear the cache and storage for the Blogger app in your device settings, or update it to the latest version via the Google Play Store. If using a mobile browser, clear Chrome's site data for blogger.com.

What happens when Blogger goes down

Blogger is Google's hosted blogging platform. Writers and small publishers use it to draft posts and publish to a custom domain; an outage interrupts that work.

Publishing a post often fails first. The editor may refuse to save a draft or stall on image uploads; the dashboard sometimes loads slowly or not at all. Comments may not appear, and custom domains can stop resolving even when the blog itself is reachable. Trouble is often partial and can be regional; one blog or account breaks while another works.

Is Blogger down right now?

To tell whether the problem is only on your side, open your blog in a private window, switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data, try another browser, and sign out of extra Google accounts; if the dashboard loads there, your browser, extensions, network, or account session is the likely cause.

Why can't I publish or save a post in Blogger?

If the publish or save button spins and then stops, the editor may have lost its session or an extension is blocking scripts. Copy your draft into a text file first, then sign out of your Google account and sign back in with extensions off. A stale editor tab can fail too; close it and paste the draft into a fresh one. If the same save error hits every post and every device on your network, check the official status page linked above.

Why do Blogger comments fail to appear or post?

Comments can vanish for two common reasons. Moderation is on, or the embedded form breaks because your browser blocks third-party cookies for Google. Switch the comment location in Blogger settings to Full Page. Test in a private window with cookies allowed; if comments work there but fail in your normal browser, clear site data for Google.

Why does my custom domain stop working on Blogger?

DNS changes break custom domains, and an expired registration or a Google account mix-up can do the same. You may see 'Another blog is already hosted at this address,' or the blog may fall back to a default blog address. Start at your registrar: check the DNS records, remove the domain in Blogger settings, then add it again and follow the verification step. Another Google account can hold the domain; remove it there first.

Why can't I sign in to Blogger with my Google account?

The service uses your Google account, so a disabled account, a blocked cookie, a bad password, or too many signed-in profiles can stop the dashboard from loading. You may get bounced back to the sign-in page, or see 'Couldn't sign you in.' Open a private window and sign in with the exact Google account that owns the blog; if that works, clear Google cookies in your normal browser and remove extra profiles from the account chooser. When Google has disabled the account, use the account recovery page, then try the dashboard again.
