How to fix KPN not working

KPN is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

1. Check KPN storingen

   Open the official status page at https://www.kpn.com/service/storingen.htm and check your address if the page asks for it. If it shows planned work or a fault near you, changing phone or modem settings will not fix it.

2. Refresh the mobile signal

   On iPhone, open Control Center and tap the airplane icon, wait 10 seconds, then tap it again. On Android, swipe down twice from the top of the screen, tap Airplane mode, and switch it off after 10 seconds.

3. Restart the KPN Box

   Unplug the power cable from the KPN Box or Experia Box, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in. Give it a few minutes; when the internet light is steady, try kpn.nl or the affected app again.

4. Forget the home Wi-Fi

   On Windows 11, go to Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi > Manage known networks, choose your network, and select Forget. On macOS, open System Settings > Wi-Fi, click Details next to the network, select Forget This Network, then reconnect with the Wi-Fi password on your modem label.

While KPN is down: what to use instead

• Mobile hotspot If your fixed internet is out but your mobile data still works, use a phone hotspot for banking, email, and basic work.
• Chat apps If mobile calls or texts fail, try WhatsApp, Signal, or FaceTime Audio over a working Wi-Fi connection.
• MijnKPN on the web If the MijnKPN app will not load, sign in through the website to check bills, subscriptions, or settings.
• Streaming apps If interactive TV has problems, use apps such as NPO Start, Videoland, Netflix, or YouTube on another connection.
