How to fix Roblox not working

Roblox is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Your browser tries to reach roblox.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

Fully close and reopen Roblox
Leaving an experience doesn't close the client, because on PC it can keep running in the background after the window is gone. On Windows, open Task Manager with Ctrl+Shift+Esc, end every RobloxPlayerBeta process and launch again; on a phone, swipe the app away from the recent apps screen. If you are still stuck on the loading screen, check the official status page before you change anything else.
Clear the Roblox cache
Stale cached files can make the app crash on launch or leave an experience loading forever. On Windows, press Win+R, enter %temp%\Roblox and delete what's inside; on Android, go to Settings > Apps > Roblox > Storage and tap Clear cache. iPhones have no cache button, so use Offload App under Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Roblox.
Fix your clock and turn off the VPN
Login and connection errors often trace back to a system clock that is a few minutes off, so turn on Set time automatically under Settings > Time & language > Date & time in Windows. Switch off any VPN or proxy too. If you start games from the website, try another browser with extensions disabled, since ad blockers can stop the prompt that opens the app.
Reinstall the app
Uninstall it from Settings > Apps > Installed apps on Windows, or long-press the icon on your phone and remove it, then restart the device before you install it again. On PC, pressing Play on any experience in your browser downloads a fresh installer. If it still fails after that, the help centre has guides for specific error messages and a way to reach support.

Fix Roblox on Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone

Roblox on Windows

Fix: To fix Roblox on Windows, try clearing the Roblox AppData folder and reinstalling the Roblox Player client. Also, ensure your Windows Firewall is not blocking the application.
Check: Check if the Roblox Player launcher fails to open or displays connection error codes like 279. You can also check if the Roblox website is loading properly in your browser.

What happens when Roblox goes down

Roblox is an online platform where you play games, called experiences, that other players build in its Studio tool. Kids and teens log in on phones, tablets, PCs and consoles to play and chat with friends, while creators depend on Robux sales for income, so an outage cuts off play and earnings at the same time.

The join step tends to break first: the site and app open fine, but when you press Play the loading screen spins or you get a message that the experience could not be joined. Games you are already in may drop with a lost connection notice. Chat, friend lists, the avatar shop and Robux purchases can stall or load blank, while Studio may refuse to publish or save your work to the cloud. Trouble is often partial, because one experience can run normally while another won't start, and some regions or devices can be hit harder than others.

Is Roblox down right now?

The status at the top of this page shows whether user problem reports are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours, and the official status page at https://status.roblox.com/ lists outages the company has confirmed. Check both. If neither shows trouble, the fault is probably on your side, so switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data or the other way round and restart the app. When one experience fails but others load fine, that game's own servers are the likely cause.

Why do I keep getting disconnected in the middle of a game?

A disconnect means your device lost contact with the game server, and a weak Wi-Fi signal or a VPN causes it far more often than an outage does. Turn the VPN off first. On a PC, closing downloads and streaming apps in the background frees up bandwidth, while on phones and tablets moving closer to the router helps most. If everyone in the server gets kicked at the same moment, that server probably crashed, so join a new one.

I bought Robux but they never showed up. What should I do?

Purchases can take a while to post when payment systems are busy, so refresh your balance and sign out and back in before anything else. Don't buy again yet. Open My Transactions from the Robux menu on the website to see whether the charge went through. If money left your account and the Robux still haven't arrived after several hours, contact support through the help centre at https://en.help.roblox.com/ and include your receipt.

Why is the app stuck on the loading screen or a blank white screen?

An outdated app or a corrupted cache causes most stuck loading screens. Update the app from your app store, or reinstall the player on Windows, then restart the device. On Android you can clear the app's cache in system settings without losing anything, because your games, items and friends are tied to your account and stay safe. If only one experience hangs, it may be too heavy for your device's memory.

I can't log in and my verification code never arrives. Is my account locked?

Probably not. Email codes can land in your spam folder or take several minutes to arrive, and if you request a new one, only the most recent code will work, so ignore the older messages. If you set up an authenticator app, the code comes from that app and no email is sent. For a forgotten password or a hacked account, follow the recovery steps on the help centre.
