How to fix Deutsche Glasfaser not working
When Deutsche Glasfaser itself is having trouble, these steps won't bring it back, but they will rule out anything on your side:
Your browser tries to reach deutsche-glasfaser.de over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
Check the fibre box first
Look at the fibre termination box and the router before changing settings; both need power, and the router WAN or Internet cable should sit firmly in place. If one box has no light, move its power plug to a known working socket and wait 2 minutes.
Restart the router cleanly
Unplug the router power supply, leave the fibre box powered, wait 30 seconds, then plug the router back in. If you use a FRITZ!Box, open http://fritz.box and use System > Backup > Restart instead of pulling the cable.
Renew your device address
On Windows, open Command Prompt and run ipconfig /release, then ipconfig /renew, then ipconfig /flushdns. On macOS, go to System Settings > Wi-Fi > Details > TCP/IP and click Renew DHCP Lease, because one stale local address can leave a single laptop offline while the line works.
Check the FRITZ!Box connection
Open http://fritz.box and go to Internet > Online Monitor; the page should show an active internet connection if the router has an address from Deutsche Glasfaser. If it still has no connection after a clean restart, save a screenshot and contact the provider with the fault time.
While Deutsche Glasfaser is down: what to use instead
- Mobile hotspot If the fibre connection is down at home, tether a phone over mobile data for email and light work.
- Public Wi-Fi A library or office Wi-Fi connection helps when mobile data is too tight for downloads.
- Mobile calls If the landline uses the fibre router and will not register, use a mobile call or a messenger call over mobile data.
- Modem and router restart Restart the fibre modem and router once, then leave them on while the connection registers again.
Problems at the same time as Deutsche Glasfaser
Since 3 November, all 4 of Deutsche Glasfaser's spikes in problem reports overlapped a spike at another service.
When several services get problem reports at once, something they share, such as a cloud host or a network, can be the real cause. Matching times alone do not prove it.

What happens when Deutsche Glasfaser goes down
Deutsche Glasfaser is a German fibre telecom provider for home and business broadband, with phone and TV options on its network. Families, remote workers, small offices, and shops rely on it, so an outage can cut internet access, landline calls, streaming, and card-terminal traffic.
A fibre access fault usually hits the internet connection first: the router may still broadcast Wi-Fi, but websites, VPNs, games, and video calls stop loading. Phone service can fail at the same time, since the landline runs over the data connection and may no longer register. TV service may freeze, buffer, or refuse to start channels when the broadband link is unstable. Deutsche Glasfaser problems are often regional or partial, affecting a town, street cabinet, or build-out area rather than every customer in Germany.

Tip: Deutsche Glasfaser doesn't list a public status page that we know of, so its help centre and the report chart on this page are the best places to check.
How we track Deutsche Glasfaser
The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for Deutsche Glasfaser, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for Deutsche Glasfaser, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.
When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. Deutsche Glasfaser doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
