How to fix Tumblr not working

Force quit the Tumblr app
On your phone, swipe the app away from the app switcher, then open it again. On a computer, close the tab and load a fresh one. This often clears a stuck session.
Log out and back in
In the app, tap the profile icon, tap the gear icon, choose Account, then Log out. Sign back in with the same details. On web, click the account icon and choose Log out. This refreshes your session token.
Clear cache or reinstall
On Android, open Settings > Apps > Tumblr > Storage > Clear cache. If the feed still stalls or a post fails to send, uninstall the app and install it again from your app store. On iOS, delete the app and reinstall it. If the problem stays, check https://help.tumblr.com.

Fix: Clear your web browser's cache and cookies, or try opening Tumblr in an Incognito window to rule out browser extension conflicts. You can also temporarily disable your antivirus firewall if it is blocking the connection.

What happens when Tumblr goes down

Tumblr is a blogging and social app where people post text, images, GIFs, and video, follow tags, and reblog each other's work. When it goes down, dashboard scrolling, publishing, reblogs, and messages stop working for creators and fans.

The dashboard stalls first. Posts stop loading, the spinner hangs, and refreshing does not pull anything new, then publishing, reblogs, likes, and image or GIF uploads start failing or bouncing back with a generic error. Messages, asks, notifications, and queued posts can all misbehave: some arrive late and some never show up, while scheduled posts miss their slots even though you can still open settings. Problems are often partial: the web works while the iOS or Android app fails, or one account gets through while another does not, so an outage can look total for you and invisible for someone else.

Why do my queued posts stop publishing on Tumblr?

Why can't I reblog or like a post on Tumblr?

You may be logged into a secondary blog that a post's author blocked, or the post may come from a private blog. Check the active blog in your account menu and switch to your main blog if needed. If the buttons still do nothing, open the post in a browser and try there.

Why does the Tumblr app keep logging me out?
