In the past 24 hours, 1,642 user reports came in for 1&1. Counting only the 15-minute windows with a spike big enough to count as an outage, that comes to 100.00% uptime for the day.
The busiest 15-minute window had 43 reports, about 10 hours ago. That stays below our outage threshold, so it doesn't count as downtime.

How to fix 1&1 not working
1&1 is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:
Your browser tries to reach 1und1.de over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
Toggle the 1&1 connection
On iPhone, open Settings > Cellular and switch Cellular Data off for 10 seconds, then on again. On Android, open Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > 1&1 and switch Mobile data off and on; if Wi-Fi is on, turn it off for this test.
Refresh Control-Center
Force close the 1&1 Control-Center app, then check for updates in App Store > account icon > Available Updates or Google Play > profile icon > Manage apps & device > Updates available. If the app still hangs at login, try the same account in a private browser window at https://www.1und1.de/.
Restart the HomeServer
If the home line is the problem, pull the power plug from the 1&1 HomeServer or FRITZ!Box, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in. When the WLAN and Power/DSL or Internet lights stop blinking, open the router interface and check Internet > Online Monitor for an active connection.
Reset saved 1&1 networks
Use this only after the quick checks, because it removes saved Wi-Fi passwords and Bluetooth pairings. On iPhone, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. On Android, go to Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth, then reconnect to your Wi-Fi or SIM.
While 1&1 is down: what to use instead
- Mobile hotspot If your home connection is out but your phone still has data, share the phone connection for email, banking, and light work.
- Wi-Fi on another network If mobile data is the problem, switch your phone to Wi-Fi at home, work, or a trusted public network.
- Control-Center in the browser If the 1&1 app will not load, sign in through the website to check bills, contract details, or settings.
- Second provider line If you must stay reachable, use another provider such as Telekom or Vodafone until calls and data work again.
Problems at the same time as 1&1
Since 3 November, all 5 of 1&1's spikes in problem reports overlapped a spike at another service.
When several services get problem reports at once, something they share, such as a cloud host or a network, can be the real cause. Matching times alone do not prove it.

What happens when 1&1 goes down
1&1 is a German telecom provider with home internet and mobile contracts, plus customer account access through 1und1.de. People in Germany rely on it for broadband and mobile service, so an outage can interrupt work, streaming, calls, and account changes.
Home internet trouble often shows up first as a line that will not sync, a Fritz!Box internet interruption message, timeouts, and buffering. On mobile, you may see no service, emergency calls only, failed SMS, or mobile data that connects but does not pass traffic. The 1&1 Control-Center app and customer login can also fail, which blocks contract changes and bill checks even if the access line still works. Problems can be regional or partial, with fixed-line access in one area affected while mobile service or the customer login still works.

Tip: 1&1 doesn't list a public status page that we know of, so its help centre and the report chart on this page are the best places to check.
How we track 1&1
The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for 1&1, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for 1&1, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.
When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. 1&1 doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
