For journalists and researchers

Writing about an outage? You can quote the numbers on this site, embed a live chart for any service, and link to the record of past outages. Please name the source and link to the page you used.

The numbers

What the numbers are, and what they are not

Every number here is a count of problem reports that users sent to a public outage-reporting service, counted in 15-minute windows and compared with the usual level for that service at that time of day. A spike counts as an outage when reports are more than twice the usual level and far above the day's average.

Reports show that many people had trouble at the same time. They are not a measurement of downtime, and they cannot show the cause: that comes from the company, usually on its official status page. Each service's numbers come from the country where people report it most, which the service page names.

Citing

How to cite this site

Name the site and link to the page you used: the service's live page, or its outage page for a past outage. For example:

Source: IsItDownRightNow.app, user problem reports (https://isitdownrightnow.app/)

Times on this site are Central European time unless a page says otherwise.

Embed

Embed a live outage chart

A small card with the service's status, reports in the last hour and the last 24 hours. It updates itself every 5 minutes and loads no ads, trackers or cookies. Pick a service and copy the code.

<iframe src="https://isitdownrightnow.app/embed/swisscom/" title="Swisscom status" width="100%" height="230" style="border:0;max-width:560px" loading="lazy"></iframe> <p><a href="https://isitdownrightnow.app/services/swisscom/">Swisscom status</a> from IsItDownRightNow.app</p>
<a href="https://isitdownrightnow.app/services/swisscom/"><img src="https://isitdownrightnow.app/share/swisscom.png" alt="Swisscom status: problem reports over the last 24 hours" width="600" height="315" loading="lazy"></a>Or an image of the same status, for places that do not allow frames, such as newsletters. It updates about every 10 minutes.
[![Swisscom status](https://isitdownrightnow.app/share/swisscom.png)](https://isitdownrightnow.app/services/swisscom/)The same image in Markdown, for README files, GitHub issues and forums.

The line under the frame is a plain link to the service's page, so readers without the frame still reach the live status. For a past outage, each outage page has its own frame and image, which never change.

Badges

A status badge for a README or a help page

Every service has a small badge at /badge/<service>.svg that shows the same status as its page. Each service page has the code to copy, for example Swisscom's.
