How to fix Destiny not working

Destiny is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

1. Check Bungie maintenance notices first

   Stop and check first. If you sit stuck on signing in or contacting servers, open the official status page in your browser while you leave the game queue idle. You can run Settings > Network > Connection Status > Test Internet Connection on PS5 to rule out your side.

2. Quit Destiny 2 from the dashboard

   Highlight the game on your home screen, then choose Close Game with Options because background suspends break sign-in. Relaunch and rejoin solo.

3. Power cycle for orbit kicks

   When you get kicked to orbit with a contacting servers banner, power cycle your console and router so stale network states clear before you queue again. After reboot check Xbox under Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings for failed connections.

4. Verify Destiny 2 game files

   Corrupt installs trap you on black screens after updates. In Steam right-click the game in Library, choose Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files while you stay queued for downloads again.

• Warframe It is free on PC and consoles and has the same loop of missions, loot and build tinkering, so it fills an evening while the servers come back.
