On joyn.de in Chrome, Edge, or Firefox, press Ctrl+F5 on Windows or Command+Shift+R on Mac. If the player is stuck on a black screen or keeps spinning, close that tab and open joyn.de in a new one.
Clear Joyn site data
In Chrome, open chrome://settings/siteData, search for joyn.de, and delete the saved site data for that entry. Sign in again, then try the same film, show, or live channel.
Clear the Joyn app cache
On Android, open Settings > Apps > Joyn > Storage & cache, then tap Clear cache. Open the app again and test playback before you clear storage, since Clear storage signs you out.
Reinstall the Joyn app
On iPhone or iPad, touch and hold the Joyn app, tap Remove App > Delete App, then install it again from the App Store. On Android TV, use Settings > Apps > See all apps > Joyn > Uninstall, then install it again from Google Play.

What happens when Joyn goes down

Joyn is a German streaming service at joyn.de with live TV and on demand shows, used by people who want German TV and catch up viewing in one app. An outage can interrupt evening streams, account sign in, casting to a TV, or playback on phones and smart TVs.

Live TV often shows trouble first because channel streams have less room to buffer; you may see a spinning player or a stream that never starts. On demand titles can fail at the play button or drop back to the home screen after an ad break. Sign in trouble can block saved lists and age checked content, while some free playback may still load. Problems are often partial, with the web player working while the TV app fails, or one German ISP path having trouble while another connection plays fine.

Is Joyn down right now?

The status at the top of this page shows whether user reports for Joyn are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Why does the Joyn video load forever after the ad?

That often points to the web player or app session rather than the live channel itself. In a browser, allow cookies and turn off ad blocking for joyn.de, since the player can stall when the ad call or playback token fails. On a phone or TV app, force close the app, update it, restart the device, and start the stream again.

Why does Joyn say the content is not available in my region?

Most streams on the German service are licensed for Germany, so a trip abroad, a VPN, a proxy, or an IP address that geolocates wrong can block playback. If you are in Germany, turn off VPN or proxy tools and test both home internet and mobile data; if only one network fails, your provider's IP location may be the cause.

Why can't I sign in to my Joyn account on the TV app?

TV apps can keep an old login session after the account password changes. Sign in on a phone or browser first, then open the TV app and use the login method it shows. If the screen loops back to sign-in, clear the app data or reinstall the app, then try again with the same account.

Why is Joyn PLUS+ missing after I paid?

Use the same account that bought the subscription; a second email address can make the paid access look absent. If the purchase went through an app store, manage or restore it in that store's subscriptions area, then sign out and back in. Keep the receipt handy if the app still shows the free tier.
