How to fix Fritz not working
Fritz is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:
Your browser tries to reach en.fritz.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
Check the FRITZ!Box lights
Look at the Power/DSL or Cable LED and the Wi-Fi LED before changing settings. If Wi-Fi is off, press the WLAN button if your model has one, or open http://fritz.box and go to Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi Network to switch the wireless network on.
Reconnect to FRITZ! Wi-Fi
On the phone or laptop, forget the saved network, then join the SSID shown in http://fritz.box under Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi Network. Use the Wi-Fi network key from Wi-Fi > Security, or the key printed on the router label if nobody changed it.
Open the box by IP
If http://fritz.box does not load, try http://192.168.178.1 in the same browser. From a terminal, run ping 192.168.178.1; a reply means the device can reach the router, so check DNS or the browser before resetting anything.
Check FRITZ!Box filters
Sign in at http://fritz.box, then open Internet > Filters > Parental Controls and find the affected device. If it has a blocked or time-limited access profile, assign the Standard profile or edit the profile under Internet > Filters > Access Profiles. Click Apply, then test the same site or app again.
While Fritz is down: what to use instead
- FRITZ!Box local page Open fritz.box while you are on your home Wi-Fi if you need router settings, Wi-Fi details, or connection status without the public website.
- MyFRITZ!App on the home network Use the app while connected at home when remote access is failing but the router itself still answers locally.
- Internet provider account Check your Telekom, Vodafone, 1&1, or o2 account if the problem looks like a DSL, cable, or fiber line fault rather than a router setting.
- Mobile hotspot Use your phone’s hotspot for a laptop or tablet if your home connection is down and you need a short backup connection.
Problems at the same time as Fritz
Since 3 November, Fritz's only spike in problem reports overlapped a spike at another service.
When several services get problem reports at once, something they share, such as a cloud host or a network, can be the real cause. Matching times alone do not prove it.

What happens when Fritz goes down
Fritz is AVM's German home networking line, centred on the FRITZ!Box routers many households and small offices use for DSL, cable, fiber and WiFi. A fault can cut fixed line internet, home WiFi, VoIP calls and remote access.
When central services have trouble, the first signs are often failed MyFRITZ!App logins, remote access that will not connect, firmware downloads that stall and FRITZ!App WLAN scans that find no box. Your local WiFi may still work. Router or line faults feel different: the box can lose DSL or cable sync, DECT phones can stop registering, a mesh repeater can stay connected with no internet, and the web interface can take ages to load. In Germany the pattern is often regional or partial, because an ISP line issue, a cable segment problem, a firmware download issue or cloud account trouble can hit one group while other homes keep working.

Tip: Fritz doesn't list a public status page that we know of, so its help centre and the report chart on this page are the best places to check.
How we track Fritz
The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for Fritz, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for Fritz, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.
When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. Fritz doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
