How to fix Qwant not working
Qwant is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:
Search from a private window
Open a private window and search on qwant.com. If it works there, an extension, cookie or cached file in your normal browser profile is causing the problem.
Update or remove the Qwant extension
An outdated extension can break the address-bar search even when the website works. Update it from your browser's extension store, or remove it and set Qwant as the default search engine manually.
Try a different type of search
If image or news searches fail, run an ordinary web search. When only one type fails, the problem is usually on the search engine's side and clears up without anything from you.
Check your connection
If no websites load properly, restart your router or switch to mobile data. A problem that affects every site is your connection, not Qwant.
What happens when Qwant goes down
Qwant is a French search engine built around privacy, which says it doesn't track searches or use them to build advertising profiles. Many people set it as the default search engine in their browser, so when Qwant has trouble, every search typed into the address bar fails too.
During an outage, searches load slowly, return an error page or come back empty, and image or news searches can fail while ordinary web results still work. Because Qwant draws partly on partner search indexes, some problems affect only certain kinds of results. Browser extensions and default-search settings fail the same way, which is easy to mistake for a browser problem.
