Airtel outages and problems
In the past 24 hours, 1,434 user reports came in for Airtel. Counting only the 15-minute windows with a spike big enough to count as an outage, that comes to 100.00% uptime for the day.
The busiest 15-minute window had 36 reports, about 23 hours ago. That stays below our outage threshold, so it doesn't count as downtime.

How to fix Airtel not working
Airtel is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:
Your browser tries to reach airtel.in over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
Toggle Airtel data off and on
Pull down the notification shade and tap Mobile data off, then on. If the connection stays dead, turn Airplane mode on for ten seconds and off again so the phone reconnects to the Airtel network.
Check balance in Airtel Thanks
Open the Airtel Thanks app over Wi-Fi and check your prepaid balance or postpaid bill; a suspended line or an exhausted data pack stops mobile data even when the signal bars look normal. For prepaid, dial *121# if the app will not load.
Reset network settings for Airtel data
On Android, go to Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth; Samsung phones use Settings > General management > Reset > Reset network settings. On iPhone, use Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. You lose saved Wi-Fi passwords, and this clears a bad APN or carrier profile that keeps the phone off data.
Reseat the Airtel SIM
Power the phone off, eject the SIM tray with the tool or a paper clip, wipe the gold contacts with a dry cloth, and put the SIM back firmly; restart and check for signal. If it still fails, try the SIM in another handset. A signal there points to the handset; no signal points to the line.
While Airtel is down: what to use instead
- Another carrier's SIM A spare Jio or Vi SIM keeps calls and data moving when the mobile signal or data fails, provided your handset is unlocked.
- Wi-Fi calling If your phone supports it and you have a working broadband line, calls go over Wi-Fi instead of the mobile network.
- Bank UPI app or card Use your bank's UPI app or a debit card at the counter when the Airtel Thanks app's payment screen hangs.
- The website When the app won't open, the website still lets you check your account and recharge from a browser.

Problems at the same time as Airtel
Since 28 October, all 17 of Airtel's spikes in problem reports overlapped a spike at another service.
When several services get problem reports at once, something they share, such as a cloud host or a network, can be the real cause. Matching times alone do not prove it.

What happens when Airtel goes down
Airtel is an Indian telecom provider whose mobile network and home broadband service carry calls and internet access for households and small businesses. An outage cuts mobile calls and data, and it can stop home broadband.
On mobile, the first sign is often a phone that shows bars but cannot load a page, while calls fail with 'No service' or drop as soon as you dial. Home broadband usually keeps the Wi-Fi signal alive, but the connection stalls and pages time out. The Airtel Thanks app can fail to load account details or usage, and a recharge or bill payment may not confirm even when the mobile network is the only part affected; outages tend to be regional or partial, so one neighborhood or one service can report trouble while the rest works. The report level at the top of the page shows whether problem reports for the service are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours, and the page does not probe or monitor the service and never checks from multiple locations.

How we track Airtel
The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for Airtel, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for Airtel, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.
When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. Airtel doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
