Troubleshooting

How to fix PLDT not working

PLDT is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Your browser tries to reach pldthome.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

  1. Check the PLDT modem lights

The modem lights give you the first clue. A red LOS light means the line has no signal, while a PON light that stays off or blinks can point to the same kind of line problem. Note which lights are red or off before you touch any cable.

  2. Restart the PLDT modem and router

Unplug the power adapter from the modem and the router if they are separate units. Wait about 30 seconds, then plug the modem in first and give it 2 to 3 minutes to finish booting before you power the router. Test the connection on one device.

  3. Test the PLDT line with Ethernet

Connect a laptop to a LAN port on the modem with an Ethernet cable, and turn off Wi-Fi on the laptop. If the wired connection works, the line is fine and the problem sits with your Wi-Fi or device; if it fails too, the line or modem needs attention.

  4. Call PLDT support with light status

Have your account number and the modem light status ready when you call the PLDT hotline. Tell the agent which lights are red or off and what you tried, because that cuts the first round of questions.

While PLDT is down: what to use instead

  • Mobile hotspot Use a phone on Globe or DITO as a hotspot for your laptop when the fiber line drops; it keeps email and messages moving for basic work.
  • Public Wi-Fi Take the laptop to a cafe or library with public Wi-Fi for tasks that need a steady connection; save large uploads for when the home line returns.
  • Converge ICT If fiber cuts keep hitting your street, check whether Converge covers your address as a second provider.
  • Globe At Home Ask if Globe At Home reaches your address for a backup line.
Same time

Problems at the same time as PLDT

Since 28 October, all 5 of PLDT's spikes in problem reports overlapped a spike at another service.

When several services get problem reports at once, something they share, such as a cloud host or a network, can be the real cause. Matching times alone do not prove it.

A spike is a sharp rise in problem reports from users, as the live pages showed it. Times are Central European time.

About

What happens when PLDT goes down

PLDT is a Philippine telecom that provides home fiber, business data links, mobile service through its brands, and enterprise connections; households, remote workers, small shops, and offices rely on it for video calls, online classes, card payments, and cloud work. A cut or local node fault can stop all of that at once.

When the home line drops, your Wi-Fi can still show connected while pages spin, video calls freeze, streaming buffers, and cloud backups fail. The first sign is often a red LOS light on the modem or a browser that cannot load a page because the fiber link has dropped. Problems are often regional or partial: one barangay or one condominium block can lose service while a nearby area stays online. The status at the top compares user problem reports in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours against their usual level; this site does not ping or probe the service and never checks from multiple locations.

Questions

PLDT FAQ

Is PLDT down right now?

The status at the top of this page shows whether user problem reports for the service are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. This site does not ping or monitor the service itself. To tell whether the problem is only on your side, test another device on the same WiFi and switch to mobile data. Restart your router or ONT once; if other devices fail on WiFi but mobile data works, the fault is likely local.

Why is my PLDT Fibr ONT showing a red LOS light?

A red LOS light means the ONT is not getting a usable fiber signal, so check that the thin fiber cable is not kinked or loose. Power-cycle the ONT once. If the light stays red, the problem is likely outside your home and needs a technician.

Why does my PLDT Fibr WiFi drop on video calls but speed tests look fine?

Short drops often come from WiFi interference or a weak signal between your device and the router. Move closer to the router and test a wired connection if you can; if the call stays stable on cable, your WiFi coverage is the weak point.

What should I do if my PLDT bill payment does not show on my account?

Keep the payment receipt or reference number and wait for the normal posting period before you pay again. Check the account balance in the app or portal you used, then contact support with the receipt if the payment still does not appear.

Why does my PLDT Home Fibr ONT restart by itself?

A loose power adapter or overheating can cause repeated restarts, so check the power cord and give the unit room to breathe. If it keeps rebooting after you move it and swap the adapter, ask support for a replacement unit.

How we track PLDT

The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for PLDT, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for PLDT, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.

When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. PLDT doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
