Troubleshooting

How to fix M1 not working

M1 is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Your browser tries to reach m1.com.sg over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

  1. Check the report level on this M1 page

Look at the status line at the top: it shows whether user problem reports for M1 are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. The site does not ping or probe the service. A normal level points to a local phone or line issue; a spike means others report trouble too.

  2. Toggle Airplane Mode on your phone

Open Control Center on your iPhone or Quick Settings on Android, turn Airplane Mode on, wait ten seconds, then turn it off. This forces the phone to reconnect to the M1 network. A stuck data session often clears with it. If calls or data still fail, go to the next step.

  3. Recheck M1 mobile data after a restart

Go to Settings > Mobile Data on iPhone or Settings > Network & internet > Mobile network on Android and confirm mobile data is on. Restart the phone, then open a web page or send a message; a fresh boot re-registers the SIM with the network.

  4. Reset M1 network settings

On iPhone, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. On Android, open Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth and confirm; this wipes saved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth pairings, so pair your devices again after.

While M1 is down: what to use instead

  • Wi-Fi calling Turn it on at home when mobile signal drops; calls and texts still go through.
  • Spare SIM A spare SIM or eSIM from another operator gets you online and reachable for calls while your main line has no service, which helps most when you need a number for work or deliveries.
  • M1 website Sign in through a browser on Wi-Fi when the app will not load and you need to check your bill or account.
  • Public Wi-Fi Connect at a mall or MRT station when you need data and the mobile network is out.
Same time

Problems at the same time as M1

Since 28 October, M1's only spike in problem reports overlapped a spike at another service.

When several services get problem reports at once, something they share, such as a cloud host or a network, can be the real cause. Matching times alone do not prove it.

A spike is a sharp rise in problem reports from users, as the live pages showed it. Times are Central European time.

About

What happens when M1 goes down

M1 is a Singapore telecom provider for mobile lines and home broadband, and people on its network rely on it for calls, texts, mobile data, and home internet. An outage cuts those links, so a call drops or your home connection goes dark while you work.

Mobile data often stalls first. Pages hang and apps time out while your phone still shows bars, and calls can fail before the first ring or drop mid-conversation. Texts may sit unsent until the network catches up, and home broadband faults look like a router that stays connected but loads nothing. Reports often cluster by area or by service, so one neighborhood can lose mobile data while another keeps working; a broadband fault can sit apart from mobile issues.

Questions

M1 FAQ

Is M1 down right now?

The status at the top of this page shows whether user problem reports for the service are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. The site does not ping, probe, poll or monitor services itself, and it never checks from multiple locations. If your M1 app or mobile data fails, switch to another connection, try the same account on a second device, ask someone nearby on the same network, and restart the app before you blame the service.

Why does the M1 app keep showing a login error when I open it?

A login failure usually comes from a stale session or a delayed one-time password SMS. Close the app, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, request a fresh code, and try the SIM in another handset if the code still does not arrive.

M1 broadband is connected but pages will not load. What should I check?

Start with the router lights and a wired device; if the wired device works, the fault is likely your Wi-Fi or one phone, and if both wired and Wi-Fi fail, restart the router and the optical box. A red or amber internet light points to the line or account side, so keep the router on and test whether your mobile data works.

Why is my M1 prepaid top-up not showing on my phone?

A top-up can take a moment to post, and a phone that was off or out of signal may not refresh its balance until you restart it or toggle airplane mode. Check the balance from the app on another connection, confirm the payment cleared with your bank or card, keep the receipt, and ask support to trace the top-up if the credit is still missing.

Why does my M1 mobile data stop working while calls and SMS still work?

Calls and texts use the voice side of the network, so a data-only failure often points to an APN setting, a spent data allowance, a handset fault, or a local network issue. Toggle mobile data and restart the phone. Check the APN against the saved settings, then compare with another handset on the same SIM; if data works there, your phone settings are the likely cause, and if it fails there too, the line or network side needs a report.

How we track M1

The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for M1, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for M1, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.

When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. M1 doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
