How to fix Honda Link not working

Force quit and reopen
Swipe the app card off the app switcher, then open it again. This clears a stuck sign-in screen or a map that never loads; if the app opens to a blank page, wait 30 seconds before you tap anything.
Update the app and phone
Go to the App Store or Google Play and install any pending HondaLink update. Check your phone's system update screen too, because older iOS and Android versions can break the app's connection.
Reinstall and add your vehicle again
Delete HondaLink and restart the phone; install it again from the App Store or Google Play. Sign in with your Honda account and add the vehicle using the VIN; if pairing still fails, use the help centre on owners.honda.com.

Honda Link is the connected car app Honda owners use for remote start, door locks, charge status, and service scheduling. When it stops responding, those commands and status checks stall, so you cannot confirm whether your car is locked or charging.

Remote commands often fail first; you tap start or lock, the app spins, and the request times out. Vehicle status can go stale for hours, so fuel range and charge level show old numbers even when the car is fine. Notifications for charging or service reminders may arrive late or not at all. Problems are often partial: one feature or one region can break while other parts of the app still work, and the cause may sit with Honda's servers or the car's cellular connection.

Why won't remote start or door lock work in the HondaLink app?

Remote commands need the car's cellular connection, so a weak signal in a garage or parking deck can block them. Check that all doors and the hood are closed, and make sure the ignition is off. Try again after driving the vehicle recently. If the app still fails, wait a few minutes. If lock works but remote start does not, the vehicle may be in a state that blocks that command.

Why does my HondaLink vehicle status show old or missing information?

Vehicle status comes from the car's connection, so it can lag when the vehicle is parked in a dead spot or has been sitting for a while. Start the car, drive a short distance, then refresh the app. Check that the app is allowed to use cellular data and that your phone is not in low power mode. If someone else who can access the vehicle sees the same stale data, the car's connection is the likely cause.

How do I fix a HondaLink login loop or a code that never arrives?

Reset your password from the login screen, then check the email account tied to your HondaLink profile, including spam and junk folders. Make sure the phone number on the account is current if you use text verification. If the app still logs you out, update it and restart your phone. Sign out of the account on other devices before trying again, and use the Honda owners help centre if the loop continues.

Can I use HondaLink after buying a used Honda that still has the old owner's account?

The app ties a vehicle identification number to an account, so the previous owner usually has to be removed before you can enroll. Ask the Honda owners help centre to unenroll the old account; have your VIN and proof of ownership ready. If the vehicle already shows in your account but commands fail, sign out and back in before trying a remote lock from outside the car.
