Troubleshooting

How to fix C Spire not working

C Spire is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Your browser tries to reach cspire.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

  1. Check the C Spire report level

Look at the status at the top of this page before you change any phone settings. If reports are above their usual level, wait a few minutes and try the service again, because the trouble may be on the C Spire side; the level comes from user problem reports over the last day, not a live check of the network.

  2. Toggle Airplane Mode

Open Control Center on iPhone or Quick Settings on Android, tap Airplane Mode on, then turn it off after ten seconds. That forces a fresh connection to the C Spire network.

  3. Check the C Spire line in Settings

On iPhone, open Settings > Cellular and make sure the C Spire line is switched on. On Android, open Settings > Network & internet > SIMs and check that the line is enabled; if you use eSIM, confirm the C Spire plan is active there.

  4. Reset network settings for C Spire

On iPhone, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. On Android, open Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth, though the wording varies by phone maker. This wipes saved Wi-Fi passwords and Bluetooth pairings, so reconnect them afterward; use it if the phone still shows no service or cannot keep a data connection after the earlier steps.

While C Spire is down: what to use instead

  • Wi-Fi calling Turn it on when you have a working Wi-Fi network so calls and texts can go through while the mobile signal is out.
  • A phone on another network Borrow one for urgent calls if your line has no service and you need to reach someone.
  • C Spire website Open it in a browser on a different connection for account tasks or a bill payment when the app won't load.
  • Company store Go in person for account or device help that can't wait and you need a person to sort it out.

Problems at the same time as C Spire

Since 27 October, all 4 of C Spire's spikes in problem reports overlapped a spike at another service.

When several services get problem reports at once, something they share, such as a cloud host or a network, can be the real cause. Matching times alone do not prove it.

A spike is a sharp rise in problem reports from users, as the live pages showed it. Times are Central European time.

About

What happens when C Spire goes down

C Spire is a regional wireless and broadband provider serving parts of the South, and its network carries mobile calls, texts, mobile data, and home internet for households and small businesses. When the service fails, those customers lose the connection they use for work and family contact.

Mobile data stalls first: pages half-load and maps freeze, while calls fail or drop and texts sit unsent. Home internet can drop too; your router or device keeps asking for a connection, and wired or Wi-Fi speeds crawl. Signal bars can mislead. Problems are regional or partial, so one town may lose service while the next town works.

Questions

C Spire FAQ

Is C Spire down right now?

The status at the top of this page shows whether problem reports for the service are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. This site does not ping or monitor C Spire, and it never checks from multiple locations. The label reflects reports from people using it. To see if the fault is only on your side, switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data and try another device on the same network; if the app and calls fail the same way, the problem is probably not your phone.

Why does the C Spire app keep asking me to sign in again?

A dropped session usually points to the app losing its connection, and the login can time out when your phone switches between Wi-Fi and mobile data. Force close the app and sign in once more on a stable connection. If the loop continues, reset your account password from the sign-in screen and try again.

Why is my C Spire mobile data not working while Wi-Fi is fine?

When Wi-Fi works and mobile data does not, the fault can sit in the phone's data settings or in your line's account status. Toggle airplane mode for a few seconds, then confirm mobile data is on for the line. Restart the phone and test the same SIM in another phone if pages still fail outside Wi-Fi.

Why did my C Spire bill payment fail?

A payment can fail because the saved card details are wrong or the payment system is down. Check the saved payment method and re-enter the billing address exactly as it appears on the statement. Try a different card if the same error repeats, and do not submit the payment again until you see whether the first attempt is still pending.

Why does my C Spire home internet keep dropping?

Home internet drops often trace to the router or a loose cable at the wall. Unplug the router for 30 seconds and check that the cable is tight at the wall and the router. If the drop repeats on both Wi-Fi and a wired connection, contact support with the times it happens.

How we track C Spire

The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for C Spire, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for C Spire, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.

When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. C Spire doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
