How to fix Helldivers 2 not working

Helldivers 2 is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

1. Check Helldivers 2 reports

   Check the bar at the top first. It shows whether player problem reports are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours, and it never pings the game or checks from other locations; if reports are above normal, wait before you change anything local.

2. Restart the game and launcher

   Start with a clean restart. On PC, quit to desktop, close Steam from the Steam menu, reopen Steam, and launch the game. On PS5, close Helldivers 2 from the Control Center, then start it again.

3. Switch crossplay off and on

   Open Options > Gameplay > Crossplay and toggle it off, then on again. Restart the game. If a friend on another platform cannot join, check that same setting on their copy too; a mismatch can block the invite.

4. Verify the install on Steam

   In Steam, open your Library, right-click Helldivers 2, choose Properties > Installed Files, then click Verify integrity of game files. That check can repair a bad patch. On PS5, use Settings > Storage > Console Storage > Games and Apps to delete the game, then install it again from your library.
