Troubleshooting

How to fix DoorDash not working

DoorDash is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Your browser tries to reach doordash.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

  1. Force quit the app and open it again

A spinner that never stops or a blank loading screen often clears after a fresh launch. On iPhone, swipe up from the bottom and flick the DoorDash card off the screen; on Android, open Recents and swipe it away. Reopen the app and give the map a few seconds.

  2. Switch from Wi-Fi to cellular data

A weak Wi-Fi signal can stall the restaurant menu and the live order map while everything else on your phone looks fine. Turn Wi-Fi off in Control Center or Quick Settings, then reload the app over cellular data. On iPhone, check Settings > Cellular and confirm the app's toggle is on; on Android, look under Settings > Apps > DoorDash > Mobile data.

  3. Update the app and clear its cache

A stale build can fail on the checkout screen or drop the map after a change on the service side. Open the App Store, tap your profile picture, then Update next to the app. Android builds update from the Play Store listing, and if trouble persists, clear the cache under Settings > Apps > DoorDash > Storage and cache, which keeps your account and order history.

  4. Sign out, then reinstall the app

A stuck session can freeze the order tracker. Sign out from the Account tab, delete the app, then install it again from the App Store or Play Store. Sign back in and check that saved addresses and past orders return before you place a new one.

While DoorDash is down: what to use instead

  • Uber Eats Use it when the app keeps failing at checkout and you still want restaurant delivery through another courier network.
  • Grubhub Try it for takeout if the service will not load nearby restaurants.
  • Instacart Order groceries through it when the app cannot show store inventory or will not accept an order from your saved address.
  • Restaurant phone line Call the restaurant directly when you need pickup and the app will not complete an order.
Same time

Problems at the same time as DoorDash

Since 27 October, all 5 of DoorDash's spikes in problem reports overlapped a spike at another service.

When several services get problem reports at once, something they share, such as a cloud host or a network, can be the real cause. Matching times alone do not prove it.

A spike is a sharp rise in problem reports from users, as the live pages showed it. Times are Central European time.

About

What happens when DoorDash goes down

DoorDash is a food delivery app that connects customers with local restaurants and independent couriers, and both customers and Dashers rely on it for meals and delivery work. An outage interrupts browsing, checkout, order tracking, and the courier side of the job.

Early signs usually show on the app: the home screen or restaurant list may hang, menu pages fail to load, and login stalls before you reach checkout. If the app opens but checkout fails, your payment may not go through or the order may sit unconfirmed; the restaurant tablet can miss the order at the same time. Delivery tracking often freezes after an order is accepted, and Dashers may be unable to accept or complete a delivery even when the customer side looks normal. These failures often stay regional or partial: one market or restaurant can hit trouble while other areas keep working.

Questions

DoorDash FAQ

Is DoorDash down right now?

The status at the top of this page shows whether user problem reports for the service are above their usual level. Switch from Wi-Fi to cellular data and load another site on the same phone; if that works, restart the app and try the checkout screen again. When the failure follows you across two networks, your connection is less likely to be the cause.

Why does DoorDash say my payment method was declined?

Payment failures often come from a card that expired or a billing address mismatch. Update those details in your payment settings and try a different card; if the new card works, the first card is the problem. If both fail, call your bank about the hold before you retry the order.

Why does DoorDash keep showing 'No Dashers available'?

That message means the app could not find a nearby Dasher for your delivery window. Try a later delivery time or a nearby address. Local supply is tight. The message can repeat even when the service itself is fine.

Why is my DoorDash order stuck on 'Preparing your order'?

The store has accepted the order, and the app is waiting for a Dasher to claim it or for the kitchen to finish. A frozen screen and a real wait look alike, so back out to the order list and reopen it. If the status still sits there, use the help option on that order; cancel only when the app offers a clear path, because a fee may apply.

Why is my DashPass not applying free delivery?

DashPass applies only to orders that meet the minimum subtotal and come from an eligible store. Check the cart total and the store badge before checkout. If the benefit still does not show, remove the item and add it again, then confirm the pass is active on your account.

How we track DoorDash

The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for DoorDash, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for DoorDash, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.

When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. DoorDash doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
