Troubleshooting

How to fix Telekom not working

Telekom is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Your browser tries to reach telekom.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

  1. Compare Magenta paths

If MeinMagenta or MagentaTV fails on one phone, test the same screen once on Wi-Fi and once on mobile data. On iPhone with German menus, open Einstellungen > WLAN to turn Wi-Fi off, then open Einstellungen > Mobilfunk and switch Mobile Daten on.

  2. Clear Login cookies

A stuck Telekom Login page can be caused by bad site data in the browser. In Chrome or Edge on Windows, press Ctrl+Shift+Delete, set Time range to All time, tick Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files, then select Clear data.

  3. Restart the Speedport

For a fixed line issue, power cycle the Speedport before changing its setup. Pull the power plug, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in, and give the router time for DSL and Online to settle before you test MagentaTV or calls again.

  4. Use fault help

If one line or SIM still fails after those checks, use the official help centre at https://www.telekom.de/hilfe/hilfe-bei-stoerungen. Pick the affected area on that page and sign in if it asks, since the fault check needs the contract or line tied to your account.

While Telekom is down: what to use instead

  • MeinMagenta app If the website is the only thing failing, the app can still let you check usage, bills, contract details, and booked options.
  • Vodafone Germany A Vodafone mobile connection or hotspot helps if your Telekom fixed line is out and you need internet on a laptop or tablet.
  • O2 Germany An O2 SIM can cover calls, texts, or mobile data when the main connection is having trouble.
  • Local Wi-Fi Work Wi-Fi, home Wi-Fi from another provider, or a trusted hotspot helps when mobile data is slow or not connecting.
Same time

Problems at the same time as Telekom

Since 3 November, all 5 of Telekom's spikes in problem reports overlapped a spike at another service.

When several services get problem reports at once, something they share, such as a cloud host or a network, can be the real cause. Matching times alone do not prove it.

A spike is a sharp rise in problem reports from users, as the live pages showed it. Times are Central European time.

Each bar is the average number of user reports in that hour, or on that day of the week, from 28 days of reports since 5 October 2026. The busiest bar is highlighted. Spikes in reports are left out, so one outage does not set the pattern.

About

What happens when Telekom goes down

Telekom is Deutsche Telekom's German telecom service for mobile, home internet, landline, and TV. Homes, small businesses, and commuters rely on it, so an outage can cut calls, mobile data, fixed broadband, and MagentaTV while account tools stop loading.

The first sign is often the access link: mobile data hangs, calls fail before connecting, home broadband drops, or the router shows no internet. Wi-Fi can still look fine. For fixed service, the DSL or fiber connection may lose sync or authentication, so landline calling and MagentaTV live streams can fail together. Account functions in MeinMagenta may load after the network recovers, while regional faults can leave nearby towns or only mobile service affected.

Questions

Telekom FAQ

Is Telekom down right now?

The status at the top of this page shows whether problem reports for Telekom are above their usual level, based on reports sent to a public outage-reporting service in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. This site does not monitor the service or collect reports itself. To check your side, test mobile data away from Wi-Fi, restart your router or phone once, try telekom.com in another browser, and compare the MeinMagenta app on a different connection.

Why does my Speedport router show no DSL or fiber connection?

If the DSL or Fiber light stays off or flashes for a long time, the line has not come up. Restart the Speedport once and check the wall socket and cable; if it still fails, use Telekom Hilfe bei Störungen: https://www.telekom.de/hilfe/hilfe-bei-stoerungen on mobile data.

Why can’t I sign in to MeinMagenta or Telekom Login?

A wrong saved password or a blocked cookie can make the app return you to the sign-in screen. Clear the app cache or try a private browser window; then request a new password only if sign-in fails on both Wi-Fi and mobile data. If the page will not load at all while other sites work, check the status above before changing account settings.

Why is MagentaTV buffering or showing a connection message?

MagentaTV needs a stable home connection, so a weak Wi-Fi link can look like a TV fault. Test the receiver or TV app with an Ethernet cable if you can, and restart the router before reinstalling the app. If live channels and recordings both fail on several devices, the issue may be outside your home.

Why are calls or mobile data failing on my Telekom SIM in Germany?

Switch airplane mode on and off, then try LTE or 5G again in another nearby spot. If only one phone has the issue, reseat the SIM and test it in another unlocked phone; if two phones fail in the same area, a radio fault is more plausible. Keep Wi-Fi calling in mind too, because bad home internet can make mobile calls look broken indoors.

How we track Telekom

The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for Telekom, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for Telekom, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.

When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. Telekom doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
