Troubleshooting

How to fix T-Mobile not working

T-Mobile is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Your browser tries to reach t-mobile.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

  1. Reconnect T-Mobile Signal

Swipe open Control Center on iPhone or the quick settings shade on Android, turn Airplane Mode on for 10 seconds, then turn it off; your phone should rejoin the nearest cell site. If the status bar still says No Service or Searching, move near a window or step outside before you try anything bigger.

  2. Restart Your Phone

Do a full restart. Hold the side button and a volume button on iPhone, slide to power off, then turn it back on; on Android, hold the power button and choose Restart, because a fresh boot clears a stuck radio state and reloads the carrier settings your phone uses on the T-Mobile network.

  3. Check T-Mobile Wi-Fi Calling

Open Settings > Phone > Wi-Fi Calling on iPhone and toggle the setting off and back on; if the screen asks you for an emergency address, enter it and save. On Android, use the search bar in Settings to find Wi-Fi Calling, since the menu name differs by manufacturer.

  4. Reset T-Mobile Network Settings

On iPhone, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings; this clears saved Wi-Fi passwords and Bluetooth pairings, so have those ready. On a Pixel or stock Android phone, open Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth, then reconnect to the network.

While T-Mobile is down: what to use instead

  • Wi-Fi calling Turn on Wi-Fi calling and use a home or public Wi-Fi network to make calls and send texts when the cellular signal drops.
  • T-Mobile help centre Use the help centre on the website for account or billing work if the app will not load; a browser can open the same support pages when the app stalls.
  • WhatsApp Message or call people on WhatsApp over Wi-Fi when regular texts and calls fail, as long as they have the app too.
  • Another carrier's phone Borrow a phone on another carrier's network for calls that cannot wait, then switch back when the signal returns.
Same time

Problems at the same time as T-Mobile

Since 27 October, all 8 of T-Mobile's spikes in problem reports overlapped a spike at another service.

When several services get problem reports at once, something they share, such as a cloud host or a network, can be the real cause. Matching times alone do not prove it.

A spike is a sharp rise in problem reports from users, as the live pages showed it. Times are Central European time.

Each bar is the average number of user reports in that hour, or on that day of the week, from 21 days of reports since 5 October 2026. The busiest bar is highlighted. Spikes in reports are left out, so one outage does not set the pattern.

About

What happens when T-Mobile goes down

T-Mobile is a US wireless carrier with mobile voice, data, home internet, and an account app. An outage interrupts your calls, texts, mobile data, or home internet, and people who rely on the service for work and daily messages feel it fast.

Mobile data often stalls first, so pages load slowly and apps time out; a full drop brings 'No service' or 'Searching' with failed calls or texts. Home internet can stay online at the gateway yet pass no traffic. The T-Mobile app may also fail to load account or bill details. Trouble is often regional or partial, so a neighborhood or one service can be hit while another part of the network works; calls that still connect while data is dead point to a partial outage.

Questions

T-Mobile FAQ

Is T-Mobile down right now?

The status at the top of this page shows whether problem reports for the service are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. The site does not ping or probe the service itself. To tell whether the problem is only on your side, switch between Wi-Fi and cellular data, try another device on the same connection, open a non-carrier site or app, and restart the phone. If other services work and a second device on the same carrier fails the same way, the issue is more likely on the network than in your phone.

Why does the T-Mobile app keep signing me out or failing to load my account?

Stale sign-in data can do that, and so can a connection drop during account checks. Sign in through a browser on Wi-Fi, then repeat on cellular data; if the browser works, clear the app cache or reinstall it. If both the app and the account page fail on two devices, the problem is more likely on the service side than in your phone.

Why does my phone show 'No service' or 'Searching' on T-Mobile?

Those messages mean the phone has lost its network registration. Toggle airplane mode, restart the phone, check the SIM or eSIM is set as the active line, and try the SIM in another phone. If a second phone on the same account works in the same spot, the first phone is the likely cause; if both fail, the area or the network is the likely cause.

Why won't picture messages send or download on T-Mobile?

Picture messages can fail when mobile data is off or when the APN settings are wrong. Turn on mobile data, reset network settings, send a small test picture, and ask the other person to send one to you. If both directions fail on two phones, the account or network settings are the more likely cause.

Why did my T-Mobile autopay fail or my payment not go through?

A failed autopay usually points to a card decline or an expired payment method. Check the payment method in your account, update the expiration date, retry the payment, and call the bank if it keeps declining. The T-Mobile help centre has contact options if the account page will not let you update the card.

How we track T-Mobile

The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for T-Mobile, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for T-Mobile, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.

When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. T-Mobile doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
