Troubleshooting

How to fix Fanduel not working

When Fanduel itself is having trouble, these steps won't bring it back, but they will rule out anything on your side:

Your browser tries to reach fanduel.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

  1. Force quit FanDuel

Close the app fully and open it again; on a browser, shut the tab and load the sign-in page fresh. Retry once on cellular if Wi-Fi stalls.

  2. Fix FanDuel location access

Turn off any VPN before you open the app, because a masked location can block a wager or contest from loading. On iPhone, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > FanDuel and set Location to Precise; on Android, open Settings > Apps > FanDuel > Permissions > Location and allow precise location.

  3. Update the FanDuel app

Install any pending update from your phone's app store. An old build can fail at sign-in or drop you back to the home screen after a page load.

  4. Reinstall FanDuel

Delete the app and restart your phone before you install it again from your phone's app store. You will need to sign in again because local app data is gone.

While Fanduel is down: what to use instead

  • DraftKings Use it when the app will not open and you need another sportsbook to place a bet before a game starts.
  • BetMGM Try it if login keeps failing and a different sportsbook account gets you back to betting without waiting on support.
  • Caesars Sportsbook Use its website on a laptop if the phone app crashes and you still want to place a bet.
  • FanDuel website Open the site in a browser when the app stalls at the splash screen or will not open at all.
Same time

Problems at the same time as Fanduel

Since 27 October, Fanduel's only spike in problem reports overlapped a spike at another service.

When several services get problem reports at once, something they share, such as a cloud host or a network, can be the real cause. Matching times alone do not prove it.

A spike is a sharp rise in problem reports from users, as the live pages showed it. Times are Central European time.

About

What happens when Fanduel goes down

FanDuel is a US sportsbook and daily fantasy app where you place bets and build lineups, and your account balance lives in the same place. An outage kills wagers and can lock you out of your account just as a game is about to start.

The app hangs on the loading screen, and a bet slip that will not submit is usually the first thing you notice. Live odds freeze mid-game. Login can fail with a generic error even when your password is right, cash out and deposit requests break on their own, and your balance can show zero or sit at an old figure until the service recovers. Problems hit one state, one sport, or one platform at a time, so it may work on a friend's Android phone and fail on your iPhone.

Questions

Fanduel FAQ

Is Fanduel down right now?

The status at the top of this page shows whether FanDuel problem reports are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Load a few other sites on the same device and switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. If every site fails, your connection is the first place to look; if only this app fails, restart it and check for an update before you blame the service.

Why does FanDuel say my location cannot be verified?

The app checks where you are before it lets you bet, so a stale GPS fix or a VPN can block you. Turn on precise location for the app, then try a fresh Wi-Fi or mobile data connection. If other sites load, the issue is local to your device or account.

Why does the FanDuel app crash when I open live betting?

Live betting pulls in fast odds and data, so an old app build or a phone low on memory can drop you back to the home screen. Update the app and restart the phone, then open the same market in a mobile browser. If other apps also close, your device is the first place to check.

My FanDuel withdrawal is pending, so what should I check?

A pending withdrawal can come from account checks or a payment processor delay. It does not always mean the whole service is down. If the app still loads other pages, check the withdrawal status and any account messages before you try it again; a second request can add more delay.

Why does FanDuel keep logging me out?

Session timeouts can follow an app update or a connection that drops in and out. Sign in again and set your phone's date and time to automatic. If the app still signs you out after a reinstall, the account session may need a fresh reset.

How we track Fanduel

The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for Fanduel, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for Fanduel, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.

When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. Fanduel doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
