How to fix NAB not working
NAB is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:
Your browser tries to reach nab.com.au over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
Check the NAB report level
Look at the report level at the top of this page before you change anything. If reports are above their usual level, the problem may be wider than your device, so wait and try the app again later; this page counts problem reports in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours and does not monitor NAB itself.
Test the NAB app on mobile data
Turn off Wi-Fi. Use Control Center on iPhone or Quick Settings on Android, then open the app on mobile data; if it works, restart your router and try the NAB app on Wi-Fi again.
Update the NAB app
Open the App Store and tap your account picture. Tap Update if the NAB app has one waiting. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Manage apps and device, then Updates available.
Reinstall the NAB app
On iPhone, touch and hold the app icon, tap Remove App, then Delete App; on Android, open Settings, then Apps, then the app, then Uninstall. Restart the phone, install the app again from the App Store or Google Play, then sign in with your NAB ID. If it still fails, use the help centre feedback form and include your device model and the exact message you see.
While NAB is down: what to use instead
- Full banking site Open the full site in a browser when the app loops on login or refuses to load your balances.
- Your card Pay with your physical debit or credit card if the app cannot complete a transfer or payment.
- Phone banking Call the automated line to check your balances and move money between accounts when the app will not open.
- Another bank Use an account at another bank for urgent payments if you have one and the app cannot complete a transfer.
Problems at the same time as NAB
Since 28 October, all 3 of NAB's spikes in problem reports overlapped a spike at another service.
When several services get problem reports at once, something they share, such as a cloud host or a network, can be the real cause. Matching times alone do not prove it.

What happens when NAB goes down
NAB is an Australian bank whose customers and business clients use the app and internet banking for balances and transfers. An outage interrupts sign-in and account access; card payments can fail, and a transfer may hang before you get confirmation.
Sign-in and balances tend to fail first, while card payments and scheduled transfers break a step later; the help centre at https://www.nab.com.au/common/forms/complaints-compliments-feedback takes complaints and feedback. You may see a transfer stall before confirmation, a blank account screen, a declined card payment at checkout, or a failed scheduled payment. Some outages stay partial. Problems often hit one platform or region while other parts keep working, so the app can fail while internet banking still loads; the status above reflects user problem reports, and the page does not ping or probe the bank's systems.

How we track NAB
The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for NAB, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for NAB, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.
When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. NAB doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
