How to fix Blue Ridge Communications not working
Blue Ridge Communications is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:
Your browser tries to reach brctv.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
Restart the Blue Ridge modem
Unplug the modem and router power cords, wait 30 seconds, plug the modem back first, and let its online light settle before you plug in the router. This clears a stuck session and takes about two minutes.
Check the modem lights
A solid Online light is normal; a blinking Online light or one that stays off means the modem has not locked onto the line. Tighten the coax at the modem and wall jack by hand, then power-cycle the modem once.
Test a wired connection
Connect a laptop to the router with an Ethernet cable. Open Settings > Network & Internet on Windows or System Settings > Wi-Fi on macOS, turn off Wi-Fi, then load a site. If the page loads, the line is up and the Wi-Fi link is the fault; restart the router and move closer.
Run a traceroute
Open Command Prompt on Windows and run tracert 8.8.8.8, or open Terminal on macOS and run traceroute 8.8.8.8. Read the hops from top to bottom. If the first hops time out, the problem is inside your home network; if later hops fail, the route beyond Blue Ridge is the place to look.
While Blue Ridge Communications is down: what to use instead
- Phone hotspot If the home internet drops, turn on your phone's hotspot to get a device back online.
- Cell phone If the landline phone has no dial tone, use your mobile phone to make calls.
- Over-the-air antenna If the cable TV picture goes out, switch to an antenna for local broadcast channels.
- Downloaded shows If the cable TV picture freezes or drops, watch shows you already downloaded in a streaming app.
Problems at the same time as Blue Ridge Communications
Since 27 October, Blue Ridge Communications's only spike in problem reports overlapped a spike at another service.
When several services get problem reports at once, something they share, such as a cloud host or a network, can be the real cause. Matching times alone do not prove it.

What happens when Blue Ridge Communications goes down
Blue Ridge Communications is an internet and cable TV provider in northeastern Pennsylvania; households and small businesses rely on it for work and entertainment. An outage interrupts remote work and streaming.
The first sign is your router light turning red or a browser that stops loading pages, while cable TV may keep working until the guide and on-demand menus fail. Video calls freeze and streaming stalls. Problems are often regional or partial, so one neighborhood can lose service while a nearby street keeps a connection. The status page compares user reports with their usual level in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours and does not probe the network itself, so it can show a local spike without proving the cause.

How we track Blue Ridge Communications
The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for Blue Ridge Communications, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for Blue Ridge Communications, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.
When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. Blue Ridge Communications doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
