Turn off blockers for Geoguessr
Ad blockers and privacy extensions can block the map or sign-in session. In Chrome, open chrome://extensions, switch off those extensions, reload geoguessr.com, and test one round before turning them back on.
Clear Geoguessr site data

What happens when Geoguessr goes down

GeoGuessr is a geography guessing game on the web and mobile apps, built around being dropped into street-level map scenes and placing a guess on a map.

Multiplayer usually gets noticed first, because Duels and party games need matchmaking, lobbies, timers, and score updates to stay in sync. Solo play can still break when a round will not load, the street view stays black, or the guess button spins instead of saving the answer. Sign-in problems may send you back to the login screen, while profile pages, streaks, and past results can lag behind after play returns. Reports are often partial: the website may load while the app fails, or one region may see blank maps while another can start games.

Is Geoguessr down right now?

Why does the map go black or keep spinning after I start a round?

That can mean the map viewer failed after the game shell loaded. Allow geoguessr.com in your ad blocker and browser tracking settings, then refresh the round. If the mobile app has the same blank view, force close it and install any pending update from the store.

Why can't I get into my account?

Use the same sign-in method you used when you created the account, since an email login and a third-party login may open different accounts. If the password form rejects you, reset the password from the login screen and check the mailbox tied to that account. A login loop often comes from blocked cookies, so allow cookies for the site and try the browser again.

Why is my Pro access or subscription missing after I paid?

First, confirm that the app or website shows the account that made the purchase. Store purchases can be tied to the Apple ID or Google account used at checkout, so use the app's restore purchase option if you bought it on a phone. If you see a charge but paid access stays locked, avoid repeated payment attempts and contact the payment provider or the game support option shown in your account.

Why do Duels freeze or disconnect during a game?

Duels need a steady connection because the timer and guesses update while the round is running. If solo rounds load but matchmaking hangs or a guess fails to submit, switch networks and pause anything using bandwidth. Turn off a VPN for one test, since extra routing can add enough delay to break a live match.
