Apple Music outages and problems
In the past 24 hours, 203 user reports came in for Apple Music. Counting only the 15-minute windows with a spike big enough to count as an outage, that comes to 100.00% uptime for the day.
The busiest 15-minute window had 14 reports, about 4 hours ago. That stays below our outage threshold, so it doesn't count as downtime.

How to fix Apple Music not working
Apple Music is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:
Your browser tries to reach apple.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
Force quit and reopen Music
On a Face ID iPhone, swipe up from the bottom and hold until the app cards appear, then swipe the Music card up. On a Home button iPhone, double-click the Home button and do the same. Reopen the app and try a song again.
Allow cellular data for Music
Open Settings > Cellular and turn on Music under Cellular Data. If playback fails on mobile data while Wi-Fi works, this switch is the likely cause. Then retry a song on cellular.
Refresh Sync Library
Missing albums or playlists can come from a stale library sync, so open Settings > Music and turn Sync Library off. Wait a short pause, turn it back on, and keep the phone on Wi-Fi while the library reloads. Then open the app and check whether the missing music returns.
Sign out of Media & Purchases
In Settings, tap your name, tap Media & Purchases, then Sign Out. Open Music and start a song so the sign-in prompt appears, then sign back in with the same Apple Account. The step can fix a subscription check that keeps failing.
While Apple Music is down: what to use instead
- Spotify Use it when the app will not load a song; a browser stream gets you listening.
- YouTube Music Try it if playback stalls at the start of a track, because its browser and mobile app give you another place to press play.
- Apple Music web player Open the browser player when the iPhone or Mac app freezes, since it reaches the same library without the installed app.
- Local files Play downloaded songs in Files or Finder when streaming fails, so a saved album still works offline.
Problems at the same time as Apple Music
Since 27 October, Apple Music's only spike in problem reports overlapped a spike at another service.
When several services get problem reports at once, something they share, such as a cloud host or a network, can be the real cause. Matching times alone do not prove it.

What happens when Apple Music goes down
Apple Music is Apple's subscription streaming service for songs, albums, playlists and radio, used by listeners on iPhone, Android, Mac and Apple Watch. An outage interrupts playback and library access, including the playlists or stations people depend on during commutes and workouts.
Playback breaks first: a track spins without starting or stops mid-song in the app on iPhone, Mac, CarPlay or Android. Library browsing and search can stall next, so albums and playlists may open empty or refuse to load, while downloaded music often keeps playing if the app has it stored and the device is offline. Problems are often partial, hitting one platform or region rather than every listener at once. The status at the top of each page shows whether user problem reports for the service are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours; the site does not ping, probe, poll or monitor the service itself.

How we track Apple Music
The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for Apple Music, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for Apple Music, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.
When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. Apple Music doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
