Lumen outages and problems
In the past 24 hours, 128 user reports came in for Lumen. Counting only the 15-minute windows with a spike big enough to count as an outage, that comes to 100.00% uptime for the day.
The busiest 15-minute window had 10 reports, about 23 hours ago. That stays below our outage threshold, so it doesn't count as downtime.

How to fix Lumen not working
Lumen is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:
Your browser tries to reach lumen.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
Restart the Lumen modem
Unplug the power cord from the modem, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in and give the lights 2 to 5 minutes to settle. If the Online light stays off, the line is not syncing and a restart will not fix it.
Check the line to the modem
Follow the cable from the wall jack to the modem and the Ethernet cable from the modem to your router; reseat both ends and confirm the clips click. A loose connector can drop one device while the rest of the service stays up.
Renew your network address
Open Command Prompt as administrator, run `ipconfig /release`, then `ipconfig /renew`. On macOS, turn Wi-Fi off and on from the menu bar, or run `sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder` in Terminal.
Test the modem without your router
Connect one computer directly to the modem with an Ethernet cable, then turn both off and power the modem first and the computer second. That isolates the router. If the direct connection works, your router or its Wi-Fi settings are the problem; if it fails, call support about the line or modem.
While Lumen is down: what to use instead
- Bumble Bumble helps if you want to keep swiping and messaging without waiting for the app to load.
- Hinge Hinge suits you if you prefer profile prompts and slower conversation over a quick browse.
- Match Match gives you a wider pool to search when the outage leaves you with time to broaden your options.
- OurTime OurTime is aimed at the over 50 audience, so it is the closest substitute if the service stays down.
Problems at the same time as Lumen
Since 27 October, Lumen's only spike in problem reports overlapped a spike at another service.
When several services get problem reports at once, something they share, such as a cloud host or a network, can be the real cause. Matching times alone do not prove it.

What happens when Lumen goes down
Lumen is a telecom and internet provider that supplies home broadband and business network connections to households, remote workers, call centres and shops. An outage cuts the link you depend on, so web browsing stalls and payment terminals lose their connection.
The first sign is usually a router that stays connected to Wi-Fi but cannot reach the internet, so your pages time out and apps show no connection. Business voice calls and VPN sessions drop next, while local Wi-Fi still looks normal. Problems can be regional or partial: one neighbourhood or one business circuit goes down while other Lumen customers stay online. The status at the top counts user problem reports above their usual level in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours; the site does not ping, probe, poll or monitor the network, and it never checks from multiple locations.

How we track Lumen
The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for Lumen, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for Lumen, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.
When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. Lumen doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
