How to fix Ping Identity not working

Ping Identity is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Your browser tries to reach pingidentity.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

Try a private window sign-in
Open a private or incognito window and sign in to the same application again. A clean session skips the cached cookies and stale tokens that often cause a sign-in loop; if the app loads here, the problem sits in your normal browser profile.
Clear cookies for both domains
Open your browser's cookie and site data settings, then remove entries for the Ping Identity domain and the application's domain. Close every tab for the app and sign in again from a fresh window; a leftover session cookie can make the service reject a fresh login even when your password is correct.
Check PingID push and device time
If a push notification never arrives, open the PingID app and check that the device is paired. Allow notifications for PingID in your phone settings, then set the phone clock to automatic under Settings > General > Date & Time on iOS or Settings > System > Date & time on Android; a skewed clock can make one-time codes fail.
Capture the SAML error for your admin
When the app returns 'Access denied' or a SAML assertion error, open your browser's developer tools and reproduce the login from the Network tab. Right-click the SAML request and save all as HAR with content. Send that file to your administrator with the exact time; they can compare it against the identity provider logs.

Fix: Update the PingID app from the Google Play Store and clear its cache in your system settings to restore Ping Identity MFA functionality. Ensure your device's time is set to automatic to prevent sync issues.
Check: Open the PingID app to see if it displays a network error instead of generating a Ping Identity passcode. If push notifications fail to arrive, the authentication service may be experiencing downtime.

Ping Identity on iPhone and iPad

Fix: Verify that the PingID app has notification permissions enabled in your iOS settings to receive Ping Identity login prompts. You can also reinstall the app from the App Store if it continues to crash.
Check: Check if the PingID app fails to connect or if the Ping Identity login page times out in Safari. If the app cannot refresh its connection, the cloud service is likely experiencing issues.

Ping Identity is an identity and access management service that handles single sign-on and multi-factor authentication for workforce and customer applications. IT teams and customer-facing apps rely on it, so an outage interrupts sign-in and leaves you stuck at a login prompt.

When sign-in breaks, SSO redirects loop or end on an error page, and MFA prompts arrive late or not at all; admin console sessions and API token refreshes tend to fail next. Is Ping Identity down right now?

To check whether the fault sits on your side, open the same app on your phone over mobile data; if that loads, the trouble is local to your machine, VPN, or browser session.

Why does Ping Identity keep sending me back to the sign-in page?

A redirect loop usually means your browser drops or blocks the session cookie the identity provider sets, so the login never finishes and you land back on the form. Clear the cookies your company's Ping domain set, then try a private window to see if the loop stops. If it keeps happening in every browser, your account may be missing an entitlement or the SSO connection may be misconfigured on the admin side, which is a ticket for your IT team.

The PingID push notification never reaches my phone. What do I check?

Open the PingID app first and confirm it still lists your account, because a reinstall or a new phone leaves the old device registered and the push goes nowhere. Battery savers on Android and Low Power Mode on iOS can hold notifications until you open the app. If the app shows nothing at all, ask your admin to re-register the device or issue you a bypass code.

I get 'Invalid credentials' but my password is correct.

That message covers more than a wrong password. A locked account, an expired password, a username that does not match the identifier the app expects, and a password changed in another directory all produce the same wording. Try the password reset flow on the sign-in page; if that fails too, your account is likely locked and only an administrator can clear it.

One app throws a SAML error while every other app signs in fine. Whose side is broken?

A single failing app usually means the SAML configuration on that app's side is off. An expired signing certificate and a clock skew between the two servers are the usual culprits. Your admin can inspect the assertion in the Ping admin console, and the vendor of the failing app can confirm which audience URL and attributes it expects.
