Troubleshooting

How to fix Eneco not working

Eneco is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Your browser tries to reach eneco.nl over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

  1. Refresh Mijn Eneco

Close the Eneco app or the Mijn Eneco tab, then open it again and sign in once more. If the account page keeps spinning, open a private browser window and try Mijn Eneco there, because a stale cookie can break the login screen for one person.

  2. Check Eneco app data

On iPhone, go to Settings, Cellular, Eneco and make sure cellular data is on. On Android, go to Settings, Apps, Eneco, Mobile data & Wi-Fi and allow network access, then try the app again without VPN or private DNS turned on.

  3. Clear the app cache

On Android, go to Settings, Apps, Eneco, Storage & cache, then tap Clear cache. iPhone does not have a cache button for one app, so go to Settings, General, iPhone Storage, Eneco, Offload App, then reinstall it from the same screen.

  4. Reinstall the Eneco app

Remove the Eneco app, restart your phone, then install it again from the App Store or Google Play. Sign in with the same Mijn Eneco account and check whether meter readings, invoices or usage pages load before changing account details.

While Eneco is down: what to use instead

  • Mijn Eneco in a browser If the app will not load, try the account area on eneco.nl for invoices, meter readings and contract details.
  • Eneco app If the website has trouble after login, the app may still show your usage, monthly amount and messages.
  • Your bank app Use your bank app to check whether a direct debit or invoice payment has gone through while the payment page is unavailable.
  • Regional grid operator If your power or gas supply is out, contact your local netbeheerder, such as Stedin, Liander or Enexis, because they handle network faults.
About

What happens when Eneco goes down

Eneco is a Dutch energy company for power, gas, district heat and related online account tools. Customers in the Netherlands use Mijn Eneco and the app to check usage, bills, meter readings and payments, so an outage can interrupt routine account work and home energy insight.

Login usually fails first. The app or Mijn Eneco may reject a valid account, hang during the security step, send you back to the start or show a plain error message. Usage graphs can stop loading and meter readings may fail to save, while invoice pages and payment screens can still work for some accounts. Problems are often partial: one region, one app platform, Mijn Eneco or a payment flow can be affected while the public website still opens.

Questions

Eneco FAQ

Is Eneco down right now?

The status at the top of this page shows whether user problem reports are above their usual level, counted in 15 minute windows over the last 24 hours. It is based only on reports sent to a public outage reporting service, not on direct monitoring by this site. If the status looks normal, try the website and the app on another connection, then check whether other Dutch sites load on the same device.

Why can't I log in to Mijn Eneco or the Eneco app?

A stuck login screen can come from a service issue, but a saved session or old app version can cause the same symptom. Close the app fully, update it, and try signing in again on eneco.nl. If the website works but the app does not, remove the app cache or reinstall the app.

Why does the app not show my energy use or meter readings?

Usage data can lag after a smart meter read, a contract change, or maintenance on the account systems. Check again later and compare it with Mijn Eneco in a browser. If both places miss the same data, the issue is probably on the account side rather than your phone.

Why can't I view or pay my invoice in Mijn Eneco?

Invoice pages depend on your account details and the payment flow, so they can fail while the rest of the site still opens. Try a private browser window, then try another payment method if one is offered. Do not retry a bank payment over and over if you are unsure whether it went through.

Why is my Toon thermostat or heating information not updating in the app?

If you use Toon, first check whether the thermostat has power and a working home internet connection. The app may show old heating data when the thermostat is offline or when the account link has stopped refreshing. Restarting the thermostat and signing back into the app often clears a local link problem.

How we track Eneco

The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for Eneco, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for Eneco, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.

When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. Eneco doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
