How to fix ABN-Amro not working
ABN-Amro is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:
Your browser tries to reach abnamro.nl over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
Retry ABN AMRO on mobile data
If the login screen keeps loading or a payment approval does not appear, change networks before changing bank settings. On iPhone, open Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off; on Android, swipe down from the top and tap Wi-Fi, then reopen the app.
Allow the QR scanner
A black camera screen or a camera permission message can stop the app from scanning a login QR code. On iPhone, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera and turn on ABN AMRO; on Android, go to Settings > Apps > ABN AMRO > Permissions > Camera > Allow.
Update the ABN AMRO app
Old app builds can fail after a change on the bank side, with login and payment approval screens hit first. On iPhone, open App Store, tap your profile picture, pull down to refresh, and tap Update next to the app; on Android, open Play Store > profile picture > Manage apps & device > Updates available, then update ABN AMRO.
Reset the app registration
Use this after updates and network checks, because removing app data can make you register mobile banking again. On iPhone, open Settings > General > iPhone Storage > ABN AMRO > Delete App, then reinstall it from the App Store; on Android, open Play Store > profile picture > Manage apps & device > Manage > ABN AMRO > Uninstall, then install it again.
While ABN-Amro is down: what to use instead
- Internet Banking website If the app will not load, try the website in a browser to check balances, view transactions, or send a transfer.
- Mobile app If the website hangs or shows a login problem, the app may still let you approve a payment or view your account.
- Debit card or cash For shop payments, use your card or cash instead of starting a payment from online banking.
- Customer service by phone Call the bank if you need to block a card, report fraud, or get help with account access while online banking is unavailable.
Problems at the same time as ABN-Amro
Since 3 November, all 2 of ABN-Amro's spikes in problem reports overlapped a spike at another service.
When several services get problem reports at once, something they share, such as a cloud host or a network, can be the real cause. Matching times alone do not prove it.

What happens when ABN-Amro goes down
ABN-Amro is a Dutch bank for personal and business banking at abnamro.nl. People in the Netherlands rely on its app, Internet Banking, debit cards, and iDEAL approvals, so an outage can block payments and balance checks.
Login tends to break first. In the app, that can mean a spinning sign-in screen, a balance that will not refresh, a payment approval that fails, or an iDEAL checkout that returns unpaid. Internet Banking in the browser may still show public pages while transfers or account details refuse to open, so the fault can feel patchy. Card payments and cash machines can keep working during an app fault, although bank-side payment trouble may also hit card use; these incidents are more often partial than clearly regional in the Netherlands, and the page status comes only from public user reports counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours, while this site does not monitor the service or collect reports itself.

Tip: ABN-Amro doesn't list a public status page that we know of, so its help centre and the report chart on this page are the best places to check.
How we track ABN-Amro
The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for ABN-Amro, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for ABN-Amro, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.
When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. ABN-Amro doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
