While Freedom Mobile is down: what to use instead
- Wi-Fi calling Turn on Wi-Fi calling if your phone supports it, then place calls over a home or public network while the cellular signal is gone.
- WhatsApp or Signal Send messages and make voice calls through either app on Wi-Fi when texts will not leave your phone.
- Prepaid SIM A prepaid SIM from another carrier in an unlocked handset gets you calls and texts if the outage lasts long enough to matter.
- Landline or borrowed phone Use a landline or a friend's phone for urgent calls when your handset shows no service.
