Monzo outages and problems
In the past 24 hours, 51 user reports came in for Monzo. Counting only the 15-minute windows with a spike big enough to count as an outage, that comes to 100.00% uptime for the day.
The busiest 15-minute window had 5 reports, about 20 hours ago. That stays below our outage threshold, so it doesn't count as downtime.

How to fix Monzo not working
Monzo is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:
Your browser tries to reach monzo.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
Check your connection
Open a web browser and load a page you have not visited before. If it fails, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, or turn airplane mode on and off.
Force close Monzo and reopen it
Open your phone's app switcher, swipe Monzo away, then tap its icon to start it fresh. A frozen screen or a spinner that never ends often clears after this.
Log out and sign back in
In Monzo, tap your profile icon, open Settings, and choose Log out. Sign in again with your email and the link Monzo sends to your inbox.
Clear the cache or reinstall Monzo
On Android, go to Settings > Apps > Monzo > Storage and tap Clear cache. If that does not help, or you use an iPhone, delete the app and download it again from Google Play or the App Store.
While Monzo is down: what to use instead
- Your physical card Chip and PIN and contactless payments usually keep working when the app will not load, so carry the card for the day.
- A card from another bank If you hold an account elsewhere, use that one for the payment you cannot make in the app.
- Cash A small amount in your wallet covers a till or a bus fare while transfers and in-app payments are stuck.
- Phone support For a lost or stolen card, call the number printed on the back of your card; the phone line does not depend on the app.
What happens when Monzo goes down
Monzo is a UK banking app for current accounts, debit cards, instant notifications and transfers, and people rely on it for everyday spending and moving money. An outage interrupts the app, card payments and the transfers you expect to clear.
Login can fail first: the app stalls on the home screen, your balance stays blank, recent transactions do not load, and notifications arrive late or not at all. Card payments may be declined, transfers can sit pending, standing orders may fail to leave your account, and Pots or spending summaries may not update after the app opens. That trouble is often partial. Reports can cluster in one area, or hit the app for some people while card payments still work, without a full outage; the status at the top counts problem reports in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours and shows whether reports are above their usual level; it does not ping or probe the service.

How we track Monzo
The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for Monzo, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for Monzo, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.
When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. Monzo doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
