How to fix Gears of War not working

Gears of War is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

1. Reload and restart

2. Try another connection

   Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. If it works on one and not the other, the problem is your network, not Gears of War.

3. Update the app

   Install the latest version from the App Store or Google Play. Old versions can stop connecting after a server-side change.

While Gears of War is down: what to use instead

• Gears of War campaign Play a campaign save when multiplayer will not connect; solo story progress does not need matchmaking.
• Local co-op Use a second controller on a Gears title with split-screen support if you want to keep playing with someone in the same room.
