How to fix Point Broadband not working
Point Broadband is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:
Your browser tries to reach point-broadband.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
Restart the router and modem
Unplug the router, unplug the modem, wait 30 seconds, then plug the modem back in first. Watch its online light, and once it settles, plug the router back in; then give the connection a minute before you test a page.
Rejoin the Wi-Fi on one device
On a phone, open Settings, choose Wi-Fi, tap the network name, and choose Forget; then join it again. On a computer, turn Wi-Fi off and back on, or plug in an Ethernet cable to take the wireless link out of the test. If only one device fails, the router is probably fine.
Check your Point Broadband account
Sign in to your Point Broadband account page and check for a balance due or a suspension notice. If the account is clear, the trouble is likely local to your equipment or line. Move on to the router.
Inspect the router's WAN status
Find the admin address and sign-in details on the router label. Open the WAN or Internet status page and check for a WAN IP address. If the WAN page shows no address, the fault sits between the router and the line; check the modem cable and contact support.
While Point Broadband is down: what to use instead
- Mobile hotspot Your phone can share its data connection with a laptop or tablet, which keeps a work call or school assignment moving while the home line is out.
- Phone data Turn off Wi-Fi on the handset and use the carrier network for messages, maps, and email; this avoids apps that stall on a dead router.
- Library Wi-Fi A local library gets you online for email and file uploads if you can wait until it opens and do not need privacy for sensitive tasks.
- Neighbor or family Wi-Fi Ask someone nearby if you can join their network for a short task, and keep it to simple browsing or a quick download.
What happens when Point Broadband goes down
Point Broadband is an internet service provider for homes and small businesses, and people rely on it for work calls and streaming. An outage cuts those connections at once, so video meetings freeze and pages stop loading.
During an outage, video calls freeze first, and pages or apps stop loading even when the Wi-Fi icon looks normal. The failure can be partial. A slow speed or repeated disconnect comes before a full loss in one area, while a wider outage takes every device offline at once. Problems are often regional or partial, so one neighborhood may drop while another stays online, and a single street can show the same symptom.

How we track Point Broadband
The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for Point Broadband, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for Point Broadband, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.
When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. Point Broadband doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
