How to fix PNC not working

Turn off VPN before PNC sign-in
On iPhone, open Settings > General > VPN & Device Management and turn off the active VPN; on Android, open Settings and turn off the VPN you use. Retry the app. If it still fails, switch between Wi-Fi and cellular data and load another site in your browser to check the connection.
Update the PNC app and phone
Find PNC in the App Store or Google Play and install any pending update before you try the app again. On iPhone, check Settings > General > Software Update; on Android, open the system update screen. Restart the phone.
Reinstall the PNC app
Delete the PNC app from your phone, then reinstall it from the App Store or Google Play. Reinstalling clears app data. Sign in again and approve push notifications if you want alerts.

What happens when PNC goes down

PNC is a US bank with a mobile app and online banking for deposits, payments, cards and account access, and individuals and small businesses rely on it for daily banking. An outage interrupts signing in, checking balances, moving money, and using a card or ATM.

During a bad stretch, sign-in can fail, the balance screen can stall, transfers can sit pending, and Bill Pay can refuse to submit; the app may also close before the account page loads. A mobile deposit upload can fail, and a transfer may show as pending while some ATMs and card payments keep working because those systems are separate. Trouble is often partial and sometimes regional: one city or one set of customers sees failed logins while others get through, and a second attempt can work. The report level at the top shows user problem reports; retry a basic sign-in first.

Why does the PNC app sign me out every time I switch apps?

Why is my PNC debit card declined when my balance is fine?

A pending hold can push your available balance below the purchase amount, even when the posted balance looks fine. Open the app and check card controls: a freeze, a spending limit or a block on online purchases will decline a charge in seconds. Fraud alerts also ask you to confirm recent activity before the card works again.

Why does the PNC app show a different available balance than the website?

Pending card holds and deposits that have not posted yet sit in one number and not the other; the available balance subtracts them, and the posted balance waits until the transaction clears. A transfer between your own accounts can also sit in flight for a short while, so the two views disagree until it settles.

My mobile deposit in the PNC app is still pending. What now?

Mobile deposits often sit as pending while the image is reviewed, and the app shows the hold on the deposit itself rather than on your balance. If the app says the image failed, keep the paper check and retake the photo on a flat surface with all four corners inside the frame.
