How to fix Bing not working
Bing is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:
Your browser tries to reach bing.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
Open Bing in a private window
Press Ctrl+Shift+N in Chrome on Windows, or Command+Shift+N on Mac. That isolates the problem. If Bing loads in the private window, a saved cookie or an extension is blocking the normal page.
Clear Bing cookies and site data
In Chrome, go to Settings, Privacy and security, Delete browsing data; in Edge, go to Settings, Privacy, search, and services, Choose what to clear. Pick Cookies and other site data, then choose Cached images and files and set the time range to All time. Click Delete data, then sign in to Bing again.
Turn off extensions for Bing
Open your browser extensions. In Chrome, click the three dots, then Extensions, then Manage Extensions; in Edge, click the three dots, then Extensions. Toggle off each extension, reload Bing, and check if the page works; if one is the cause, remove it or leave it disabled.
Flush DNS for Bing
On Windows, open Command Prompt as administrator. Run ipconfig /flushdns, then ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew. On a phone or tablet, turn Airplane mode on for a few seconds, turn it off, restart the device, and if Bing still fails, change your DNS server in network settings to Cloudflare or Google Public DNS.
While Bing is down: what to use instead
- Google Search For everyday web, image or news results, Google covers the same ground in any browser and you don't need to sign in.
- Brave Search It runs on its own index, so it keeps working when Microsoft's search has trouble.
- DuckDuckGo Many of its results come from Bing, so it may still load when Bing's own pages fail, though if both stop at once the problem probably sits with Microsoft.
- Switch between the app and the website If the mobile app keeps spinning or shows a blank page, open the site in a browser instead, or try the reverse, because one often works while the other doesn't.
