  1. Force quit the app and reopen it

    A full quit clears most stuck screens. On iPhone or iPad, swipe up from the bottom and flick the Paramount+ card away; on Android, open Settings, go to Apps, find the app, then tap Force stop. Reopen it, because a frozen splash screen or a stream stuck at the logo usually comes back to life once the process restarts.

  2. Try another connection

    Test the same title on a different connection. Switch the phone to cellular data, or point a TV at a phone hotspot instead of the home router, and watch whether playback recovers. If it does, the router is the weak point: restart it, wait for the lights to settle, then reconnect the device.

  3. Sign out and sign back in

    Open the profile menu and choose Sign Out. Sign back in with the same email and password on one device first, because that shows whether the fault follows the account or stays on that screen. If the password gets rejected, reset it on the website and try once more.

  4. Reinstall the app

    Delete the app and install a fresh copy from your device's app store. What happens when Paramount+ goes down

Paramount+ is a streaming service for movies, TV series, live sports and channels from Paramount brands. You use it on phones, smart TVs, streaming sticks and the web, so an outage cuts into a movie night or a live match you sat down to watch.

When it goes down, the app may hang on its splash screen or refuse your sign-in, and the home screen can load with empty rows because your profiles and watchlist never arrive. Playback tends to fail next: a title spins, throws a vague 'something went wrong' message, stops midway, or drops you back to the menu, while downloads you queued stay stuck at the start.
