How to fix E.ON Highspeed not working
E.ON Highspeed is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:
Your browser tries to reach eon-highspeed.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
Rejoin the home Wi-Fi
On iPhone, open Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the i next to the home network, choose Forget This Network, and join it again with the router password. On stock Android, open Settings > Network & internet > Internet, tap the gear next to the home Wi-Fi, tap Forget, and reconnect.
Restart the E.ON Highspeed router
Unplug the fibre modem and router from power for 30 seconds, then plug in the fibre modem first and the router after its lights settle. If your router is a FRITZ!Box, restart it from http://fritz.box under System > Backup > Restart.
Check the FRITZ!Box line state
Stay connected to the home network and open http://fritz.box. On a FRITZ!Box, go to Internet > Online Monitor and check whether the router has an IPv4 or IPv6 address; then open System > Events and read the Internet entries. Leave provider access data unchanged unless support asks for it, because a wrong entry can keep the line offline.
Test from LAN 1
Connect a laptop to LAN 1 on the router with Ethernet, then switch Wi-Fi off on that laptop. On Windows, open Command Prompt and run ping 1.1.1.1 and nslookup eon-highspeed.com; on macOS, open Terminal and run ping -c 4 1.1.1.1 and nslookup eon-highspeed.com. If the cable test works while wireless fails, change the Wi-Fi name or password in the router menu rather than changing the fibre connection settings.
While E.ON Highspeed is down: what to use instead
- Mobile hotspot Use your phone as a hotspot if your mobile plan has data and you need basic web access at home.
- Telekom A Telekom mobile or home internet line can cover calls, work, or streaming if you already have access to one.
- Vodafone Vodafone mobile data or a separate home connection helps when your main line has no usable connection.
- O2 O2 mobile data is a practical fallback for messaging and tethering while the service is unavailable.
What happens when E.ON Highspeed goes down
E.ON Highspeed is a German telecom service at eon-highspeed.com, focused on fixed broadband over fiber connections. Households and small businesses rely on it for home internet and, where booked, fixed-line phone service, so an outage can stop work, streaming, video calls, and normal calling.
During an E.ON Highspeed outage, your router may stay powered and the Wi-Fi name may still appear, but web pages fail to load or video calls freeze. Fixed-line phone service can fail too. Broadband access tends to show trouble first, with high latency or a full loss of internet before anything on the public website matters. Problems can be regional or partial on a fixed access network, so one building or street may be affected while nearby connections still work.

Tip: E.ON Highspeed doesn't list a public status page that we know of, so its help centre and the report chart on this page are the best places to check.
How we track E.ON Highspeed
The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for E.ON Highspeed, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for E.ON Highspeed, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.
When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. E.ON Highspeed doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
