Troubleshooting

How to fix eFootball not working

eFootball is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Your browser tries to reach konami.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

  1. Restart eFootball and retry

Close the app, then reopen it and try the same mode again. A stale session can leave the lobby or matchmaking screen hanging, and a fresh launch can clear that state. On console, quit from the home menu before relaunching; on PC, exit from Steam.

  2. Switch eFootball to another network

Move from Wi-Fi to mobile data on your phone, or use a wired connection on console or PC if you have the cable, then test the game in a match. Some routers drop match traffic, and a different path shows whether your home network is the cause.

  3. Clear eFootball cache or reinstall it

On your Android phone, tap Clear cache in Settings > Apps > eFootball > Storage & cache. Leave Clear data alone because it can remove local login data; on your iPhone, delete and reinstall the app from the App Store if the download or login screen hangs. Reopen the game and sign in.

  4. Verify the eFootball install or redownload it

On Steam, open Library > right-click eFootball > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files. On a console, delete it and redownload from your library. This replaces corrupted game data that can stop the app from reaching the title screen.

While eFootball is down: what to use instead

  • EA Sports FC Play a full football match here when the service will not connect and you want the same kind of action.
  • Football Manager Use this for tactics and transfers if you would rather manage than play.
  • Rocket League Try short online matches with cars and a ball if you still want a competitive game with a football shape.
  • Dream League Soccer Use this mobile football game for quick matches on a phone when the app will not open.
About

What happens when eFootball goes down

eFootball is Konami's free football game on PlayStation, Xbox, PC and phones, and most of the play happens online, in matches and squad building. When the servers stumble, your match and your login stall together.

Matchmaking breaks first: the search timer climbs and no opponent turns up. If a match does start, a drop before kickoff or mid-game counts as a loss on your record, and coin balances or Dream Team progress can fail to sync for a while after. Trouble is often partial or regional; one mode or platform can fail while the rest of the service still answers. Try another mode or device, and check the report level at the top of the status page before you assume the whole game is down.

Questions

eFootball FAQ

Is eFootball down right now?

The status at the top of this page shows whether user problem reports for the service are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. It reflects user reports only. This site does not ping or monitor the service itself, and it never checks from multiple locations. To see if the problem is on your side, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, try another device on the same network, check whether other apps load, and restart your router.

Why does eFootball disconnect me in the middle of an online match?

Mid-match disconnects usually mean your connection dropped or switched networks; the game treats that as a lost link. Try a wired connection on console or a steady mobile signal. If it repeats on other devices, check the report level at the top of this page before you blame your setup.

Why are my eFootball Coins missing after a purchase?

Coin purchases can lag while the platform store confirms the payment, so restart the app and check your store receipt before you buy again. If the receipt is there and the coins are not, contact the platform store support for the purchase, since the payment went through that account. Do not open a second purchase for the same item while the first one is pending.

Why does eFootball keep asking me to link a Konami ID?

Linking a Konami ID ties your progress to one account instead of the device, which matters if you switch phones or consoles. Use the same platform sign-in and the same Konami ID each time; a second guest profile will not carry your team over. If linking fails, reset the password through account recovery and try again.

Why does eFootball fail to update on my phone?

Failed updates on mobile usually point to storage, the store account, the connection, or a pending store update. Free up space, then retry on stable Wi-Fi. If the store itself shows an error, restart the phone and try the download again.

How we track eFootball

The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for eFootball, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for eFootball, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.

When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. eFootball doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
