The busiest 15-minute window had 14 reports, about 16 hours ago. That stays below our outage threshold, so it doesn't count as downtime.

Troubleshooting

How to fix DHL not working

DHL is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Your browser tries to reach dhl.de over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

  1. Retry DHL tracking directly

Open dhl.de, choose Sendungsverfolgung, and paste the shipment number again without spaces. If the app shows a blank page or keeps spinning, compare it with the website before changing account settings.

  2. Refresh the Post & DHL app

Close the app from the app switcher, then open it again and test shipment tracking or your Packstation barcode. On iPhone, swipe up from the bottom and swipe the app away; on Android, open Recents and swipe it away.

  3. Clear dhl.de site data

In Chrome, go to Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > View permissions and data stored across sites, then remove the stored data for dhl.de. In Safari on Mac, use Safari > Settings > Privacy > Manage Website Data, select dhl.de, and click Remove.

  4. Reinstall the Post & DHL app

On iPhone, go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Post & DHL > Delete App, then install it again from the App Store. On Android, open Settings > Apps > Post & DHL > Uninstall, then install it again from Google Play and sign back in to your DHL account.

While DHL is down: what to use instead

  • Post & DHL app If the website will not load, try the app for parcel tracking and Packstation pickup details tied to your account.
  • Deutsche Post branch Go to a post office or parcel shop when you need postage or a parcel drop-off without using the website.
  • Hermes Use it for domestic parcel shipping in Germany when you can send from a PaketShop and do not need DHL handling.
  • DPD or GLS Pick one of these carriers if the parcel can use another tracked delivery network while the service is having problems.
Same time

Problems at the same time as DHL

Since 3 November, all 3 of DHL's spikes in problem reports overlapped a spike at another service.

When several services get problem reports at once, something they share, such as a cloud host or a network, can be the real cause. Matching times alone do not prove it.

A spike is a sharp rise in problem reports from users, as the live pages showed it. Times are Central European time.

About

What happens when DHL goes down

DHL on dhl.de is the German parcel service for tracking shipments, buying parcel labels, managing Packstation pickup, and changing delivery options. Private senders and online shoppers rely on it, so an outage can block label purchase, parcel tracking, and collection codes in the Post & DHL app.

Tracking usually shows trouble first, with pages hanging after the shipment number or the last scan staying visible while newer events fail to load. When login is affected, the customer account may loop back to the sign in page, and the app can stop showing parcels saved to your account. Buying a parcel label can fail at payment or leave the order stuck before the QR code appears. Packstation and delivery changes are often partial by region, since one postcode area can have working tracking while another has missing pickup codes or failed redirect requests.

Questions

DHL FAQ

Is DHL down right now?

The status at the top of this page shows whether user problem reports for DHL are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Those reports go to a public outage-reporting service; this site uses them and does not monitor the service or collect reports itself. If the status looks normal, try dhl.de or the DHL Paket app on mobile data, then try another browser and disable ad blockers or VPNs. If tracking works on one connection but not another, the issue is probably with your device, browser, or network.

Why does tracking say "Die Sendungsnummer ist nicht bekannt"?

That message can appear before the parcel has its first usable scan, especially after a label was created. Check that you copied every digit and letter from the sender, since German parcel and express numbers can look similar. If it still appears after the parcel should have entered the network, ask the sender to confirm the number or try again in the DHL Paket app.

Why is my Packstation Abholcode missing in the DHL Paket app?

The app only shows the pickup code for parcels tied to your customer account and Postnummer. Sign in with the same account you used for Packstation, check that app permissions are not blocking updates, and open the shipment from the parcel list. If the parcel was addressed without your Postnummer, the code may not appear in the app.

Why can't I log in to my DHL customer account on dhl.de?

A bad password, a locked account, or a session cookie can leave the login page looping or showing a generic error. Reset the password from the login page, then open dhl.de in a private window if the reset works but the browser still sends you back. If the app works while the website fails, keep the app for tracking and Packstation pickup until the web session clears.

Why won't the DHL Paket app let me redirect a parcel or choose a delivery location?

Redirection and delivery location choices depend on the shipment type and its scan status in Germany. The option can disappear after the parcel is already loaded for delivery, and some sender rules block changes. Check the shipment detail page rather than the overview, because the available choices often sit behind "Zustelloptionen".

How we track DHL

The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for DHL, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for DHL, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.

When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. DHL doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
