- Usual levelWhat a usual day sees at that timeAbout 8 an hour now
In the past 24 hours, 236 user reports came in for bait. Counting only the 15-minute windows with a spike big enough to count as an outage, that comes to 100.00% uptime for the day.
The busiest 15-minute window had 12 reports, about 15 minutes ago. That stays below our outage threshold, so it doesn't count as downtime.

How to fix bait not working
When bait itself is having trouble, these steps won't bring it back, but they will rule out anything on your side:
Your browser tries to reach mibait.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
Toggle bait data
Turn Airplane Mode on for 20 seconds, then turn it off. On iPhone, use Settings > Airplane Mode; on Android, use Settings > Network & internet > Airplane mode.
Pick the bait SIM
If your phone has two lines, confirm that mobile data is using the bait SIM, since calls can still work while data uses the other line. On iPhone, open Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data and select that line; on Android, open Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Mobile data.
Reset the bait APN
A bad APN can leave the phone with signal bars but no mobile data. On Android, open Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Access Point Names, tap the three dot menu, and choose Reset to default; on iPhone, use Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Network > Reset Settings if that screen is shown.
Rebuild network settings
Use this after the quick checks, because it removes saved Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth pairings along with cellular settings. On iPhone, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings; on Android, go to Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Mobile Network Settings.
While bait is down: what to use instead
- Telcel Use an active Telcel line or a trusted hotspot if mobile data or calls on your main line are failing.
- AT&T México Switch to an active AT&T México SIM if you need calls, texts, or data before the service recovers.
- Movistar México Use a spare Movistar México line for basic connectivity when your phone will not register on the network.
- Wi-Fi and WhatsApp calls Connect to trusted Wi-Fi and use WhatsApp calling when cellular data is the broken part and the other person can take an internet call.
Problems at the same time as bait
Since 3 November, all 4 of bait's spikes in problem reports overlapped a spike at another service.
When several services get problem reports at once, something they share, such as a cloud host or a network, can be the real cause. Matching times alone do not prove it.

What happens when bait goes down
bait is a Mexican mobile telecom service from mibait.com, used by people who need prepaid mobile data, calls, texts, and recharges. An outage can cut off the phone connection and also block account checks or top-ups in the app.
Data often shows the pain first: pages stall, WhatsApp messages sit unsent, maps stop loading, and hotspot sharing drops. Calls and SMS can still work during a partial data issue, but a wider network fault may make calls fail to connect or text messages arrive late. The app may also refuse balance checks or recharges, which matters if your line is active but out of credit. Problems can be regional, since a mobile service can fail in one coverage area while another area keeps working.

Tip: bait doesn't list a public status page that we know of, so its help centre and the report chart on this page are the best places to check.
How we track bait
The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for bait, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for bait, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.
When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. bait doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
