Troubleshooting

How to fix AFIP not working

AFIP is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Your browser tries to reach afip.gob.ar over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

  1. Retype Clave Fiscal

Open afip.gob.ar and choose Acceso con Clave Fiscal. Enter your CUIT or CUIL without spaces or hyphens, then type the Clave Fiscal by hand if the browser filled an old password.

  2. Clear afip.gob.ar data

In Chrome, paste chrome://settings/siteData into the address bar, search for afip.gob.ar, and delete the stored data for that site. Sign in again; this clears a stuck session without wiping cookies for every site.

  3. Allow Clave Fiscal pop-ups

Some trámites open receipts or forms in a new tab, so a blocked pop-up can look like a broken page. In Chrome on the AFIP tab, click the site information icon next to the address, open Site settings, set Pop-ups and redirects to Allow, then reload.

  4. Flush the afip.gob.ar lookup

If the browser says the site cannot be reached while other sites load, clear DNS on your device. On Windows, open Command Prompt and run ipconfig /flushdns; on macOS, open Terminal and run sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder.

While AFIP is down: what to use instead

  • Mi AFIP app If the browser portal is failing, the mobile app may still let you check CUIT data or handle basic clave fiscal tasks.
  • Facturador móvil If you need to issue a comprobante from a phone, try the mobile invoicing app instead of Comprobantes en línea.
  • Bank home banking If you already generated a VEP, pay it through your bank or payment network and keep the receipt.
  • Backup invoice book If you have authorized paper backup invoices, use them for sales that cannot wait and record the details later with your accountant.
About

What happens when AFIP goes down

AFIP is Argentina's federal tax and customs service, and people and businesses rely on it for Clave Fiscal, electronic invoices, tax filings, and payments. An outage can interrupt invoicing, monotributo work, customs paperwork, or deadline payments.

Login often breaks first. Clave Fiscal can loop back to the sign-in screen or leave you on a blank page after the CAPTCHA, while the main site still opens. Electronic invoices and payment pages may time out at the authorization step; in the Mi AFIP app, account data can hang or show stale balances. Problems are often partial by service or by region in Argentina, so monotributo, IVA, Ganancias, or customs pages may fail while other sections work.

Questions

AFIP FAQ

Is AFIP down right now?

The status at the top of this page shows whether user problem reports for AFIP are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. The status comes only from reports sent by users to a public outage-reporting service; this site does not monitor the service or collect reports itself. If the status looks normal, check your side: open a private window, try another browser, and switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. If another device on a different connection loads the login page, your browser, network, or saved session is the likely cause.

Why can't I sign in with CUIT and Clave Fiscal?

Check that you entered CUIT, CUIL, or CDI without spaces, and use the Clave Fiscal tied to that person or business. If the login page loops back or rejects a password you know, clear cookies for afip.gob.ar and start from a fresh tab. Do not keep retrying the same wrong password; use the recovery flow if you are unsure.

Why does Comprobantes en Línea freeze when I try to make an electronic invoice?

Comprobantes en Línea can fail after login if the browser blocks pop-ups or old session cookies. Allow pop-ups for afip.gob.ar, sign out, and open the service again from the Clave Fiscal menu. If the invoice PDF will not open, test another browser before redoing the invoice.

Why is my Monotributo payment or VEP not showing after I paid?

A VEP or Monotributo payment may take time to appear after the bank or payment network accepts it. Save the proof. Check Cuenta Corriente de Monotributistas y Autónomos later, because paying again can create a duplicate credit. If a due date is close, use the account options inside the portal rather than a link from an email.

Why does Mi AFIP fail on my phone but the website opens?

The app still depends on your Clave Fiscal account and the phone session, so a saved login can break while the web portal works. Update the app, check the phone date and time, then try Wi-Fi and mobile data. If only the app fails, use afip.gob.ar from a browser until the mobile login works again.

How we track AFIP

The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for AFIP, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for AFIP, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.

When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. AFIP doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
