Instacart outages and problems
In the past 24 hours, 215 user reports came in for Instacart. Counting only the 15-minute windows with a spike big enough to count as an outage, that comes to 100.00% uptime for the day.
The busiest 15-minute window had 10 reports, about 2 hours ago. That stays below our outage threshold, so it doesn't count as downtime.

How to fix Instacart not working
Instacart is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:
Your browser tries to reach instacart.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
Refresh the Instacart cart
If an item will not add or the checkout button stays grey, close the app from the app switcher and open it again. Remove that item from the cart. Add it back from the store aisle; a stale cart can keep the old total.
Recheck payment
Open Account, then Payments, and switch to another saved card or re-enter the same card when checkout says it cannot process your payment. Check that the billing ZIP and card expiry match; a mismatch can block the order before it reaches the store.
Reset delivery address
In Account, open Addresses and confirm the apartment or suite number is on the default delivery address, since a missing unit can hide delivery windows. If no slots show, add the address again and set the new copy as default. The older copy can stay until the new one works.
Clear Instacart app data
On iPhone, open Settings, scroll to Instacart, and turn on Cellular Data if the app fails only on mobile data; then delete and reinstall the app to clear a damaged cache. On Android, open Settings > Apps > Instacart > Storage and tap Clear cache. Use Clear storage only after you know you can sign back in because it removes saved carts and local data.
While Instacart is down: what to use instead
- Instacart website Use the browser version when the app stalls; your account and saved addresses still work there.
- DoorDash DoorDash handles grocery and convenience delivery from local stores.
- Uber Eats Try Uber Eats when a nearby store appears in its grocery section and you can wait for a different courier.
- Walmart Grocery Use Walmart Grocery for pickup when the store is close and you can collect the order yourself.
Problems at the same time as Instacart
Since 27 October, Instacart's only spike in problem reports overlapped a spike at another service.
When several services get problem reports at once, something they share, such as a cloud host or a network, can be the real cause. Matching times alone do not prove it.

What happens when Instacart goes down
Instacart is a grocery delivery and pickup service that you use through its app or website, and people rely on it for weekly groceries, household basics, and last-minute needs; an outage interrupts browsing stores, building a cart, and getting an order delivered. The status at the top of each page shows whether user problem reports for the service are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours, and the site does not ping, probe, poll, or monitor the service itself or check from multiple locations.
Store availability and delivery time slots tend to break first, so you may open the app to an empty store list or no times available for your address. Checkout can stall on payment or address steps, and a failed order may clear from the cart or leave you on a generic error screen. Problems are often partial: one platform or one metro fails while the website still works. Order tracking and shopper chat go quiet after checkout, which leaves you without replacement approvals or delivery updates.

How we track Instacart
The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for Instacart, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for Instacart, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.
When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. Instacart doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
