Chuffed is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Check Chuffed's status first
The status note at the top of this page shows whether problem reports for the service are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. A normal level makes a local issue more likely, and the note does not ping or probe the service. Open the official status page at https://status.chuffed.org and read any incident note.
Retry the campaign page in a private window
Open the campaign page or the donation form in a private window to rule out a stale cookie or an extension. In Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari, start a private session from the browser menu. Safari lists it under File > New Private Window.
Clear Chuffed site data
Clear cookies and cached files for the site. Then sign in again. In Chrome, open the Clear browsing data dialog from the three-dot menu; select Cookies and other site data plus Cached images and files, and set the time range to All time.
Test another network, then contact Chuffed support
Switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data or turn off a VPN, then reload the page. That tests a local network block. If the problem follows you, open the help centre at https://help.chuffed.org and include the page URL and the exact error wording.

Fix: Clear your Safari or Chrome cache and disable any active content blockers that might prevent Chuffed from loading on macOS. Alternatively, try renewing your DHCP lease in your Mac's Network settings.

Chuffed on Android

Fix: Clear your mobile browser's cache and cookies, or try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data to fix Chuffed loading errors. Toggling Airplane mode on and off can also refresh your connection.

Chuffed on iPhone and iPad

Fix: Go to your iOS Settings to clear Safari's history and website data, or disable any active VPNs that might block Chuffed. You can also try switching from Wi-Fi to cellular data.
Check: Try accessing the Chuffed website using Safari or another iOS browser. If the page fails to load, check your internet connection and verify if other websites are accessible.

What happens when Chuffed goes down

Chuffed is a crowdfunding platform for social causes, used by charities, community groups, schools and individuals, and many campaigns run against a deadline with donors giving from phones and laptops at once. Two things decide whether a campaign collects anything: a page that loads and a checkout that takes the card.

The campaign page usually goes first, and the symptom is blunt: a blank screen, or a donate button that does nothing when tapped. If the page holds, the payment step fails next, so a donor taps Donate, watches the spinner, and gets a generic error while the card is never charged. Organisers feel it from the dashboard. Totals stop updating there, and they cannot post an update or thank a donor, though the problem is rarely total: one region or one payment method breaks while the rest of the site works fine.

Is Chuffed down right now?

Why does my donation fail at checkout?

Your bank often blocks the charge while the campaign page says payment failed. Try a different card if you saw that message, and turn off VPN because mismatched location trips fraud filters. Talk to your bank if it still stops the donation.

I donated but never got a receipt, did it go through?

Look in spam for the receipt and in your bank feed for the charge, since mail delay makes you think a gift missed. Log back into the account you donated from to open donation history and confirm the campaign name and amount. Ask the campaign owner through the help centre if the charge posts with no receipt.

Why can't I log in to manage my campaign?

Use the same email you built the campaign with, because a second account shows no campaigns in the dashboard. Reset the password and clear saved login if the dashboard loops back to sign in. Contact support from the help centre with that email if you still see a blank dashboard after sign in.

When do I get the money from my fundraiser?

Link your bank first. Payouts pause until bank details and ID pass review, so you must finish verification in campaign settings before funds move. Wait a few business days for the transfer after you request it, then ask the help centre if the dashboard still marks it pending.
