How to fix Ben not working
Ben is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:
Your browser tries to reach ben.nl over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.
Wake the Ben SIM
Turn Airplane Mode on for 10 seconds, then turn it off. On iPhone, open Control Centre and tap the plane icon; on Android, swipe down twice and tap Airplane mode. If the phone still shows no service, restart it before changing settings.
Pick the correct SIM
If you use two SIMs, make the Ben line the one for mobile data. On iPhone, go to Settings > Mobile Service > Mobile Data and select it; on Android, go to Settings > Network and internet > SIMs > Mobile data and pick the same SIM. Then open a browser with Wi-Fi off so you test the mobile network.
Let the phone choose the network
Manual network choice can leave the SIM stuck on an unavailable network. On iPhone, go to Settings > Mobile Service > Network Selection and switch Automatic on. On Android, go to Settings > Network and internet > SIMs > Automatically select network and turn it on.
Reset mobile settings
This removes saved mobile and Wi-Fi network settings, so keep your Wi-Fi password nearby. On iPhone, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings; on Pixel or stock Android, go to Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile and Bluetooth. If the SIM still will not register after that, use the help centre at https://www.ben.nl/service.
While Ben is down: what to use instead
- Ben app If ben.nl will not load, try the app for account details, usage checks, and invoices.
- ben.nl in a browser If the app hangs or refuses your login, the website may still let you reach your account.
- Wi-Fi If mobile data on the SIM is failing, Wi-Fi keeps messaging apps, email, and web pages working.
- Second SIM A spare SIM from KPN, Vodafone, or Odido helps if you need calls or mobile data while your Ben connection has a network fault.
What happens when Ben goes down
Ben is a Dutch mobile provider at ben.nl with SIM-only and phone subscriptions, used by people in the Netherlands for calls and mobile data. When it has a fault, the interruption can hit the Ik Ben app, account pages, plan changes, and the mobile network itself.
Account faults usually show up first in Mijn Ben or the Ik Ben app, where login loops, a blank usage screen, invoices that will not load, or plan changes that time out can block basic self-service. If the network is affected, you may see no mobile data, failed calls, delayed texts, or a phone that stays on emergency calls only. Those issues can be partial. A web or app problem can leave calling working, while a radio or core network fault may hit one area of the Netherlands more than another.

Tip: Ben doesn't list a public status page that we know of, so its help centre and the report chart on this page are the best places to check.
How we track Ben
The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for Ben, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for Ben, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.
When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. Ben doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
