Unplug power from the modem or ONT and from your Wi-Fi router, if they are separate boxes. Wait 30 seconds, plug the modem or ONT back in first, and reconnect the router after the optical or internet light has settled; do not press Reset, because that can erase provider settings.
Renew the device IP
On Windows, open Command Prompt and run ipconfig /release, then run ipconfig /renew. On macOS, open System Settings > Network > Wi-Fi or Ethernet > Details > TCP/IP > Renew DHCP Lease, then load a site that was failing.
Test by Ethernet cable
Connect a computer to a LAN port on the router with an Ethernet cable, then turn Wi-Fi off on that computer so the test uses the cable. If the cable works but Wi-Fi does not, reset that device’s network settings: on Windows 11 use Settings > Network & internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset; on iPhone use Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
