How to fix Trakt not working

Trakt is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Refresh dashboard and check status
Reload with Ctrl+F5 first. If your watchlist still spins without loading, open the official status page because that page confirms a local platform outage before you reset anything else.
Log out to reset history sync
Sign out from the avatar menu, then sign back in with your password because stale tokens block history and calendar updates. You force a fresh session when you do this.
Reauthorize scrobbler in Kodi or Plex
Open Kodi Add-ons > My add-ons > Trakt and run Authorize again because expired tokens stop scrobbles after you change your password. You pick up missing check-ins after you complete this fresh handshake.
Clear site data and retry sync
Delete cached files via Chrome Settings > Privacy and security > Delete browsing data because stale cache blocks watchlist loads. Test sync in a fresh profile if issues persist.

What happens when Trakt goes down

Trakt is a media tracking service for movies and TV shows, and you use it to scrobble episodes, keep watch history, build watchlists, and rate titles. An outage interrupts that sync between the website and any app that relies on its API to record what you watched.

When the service has trouble, the first sign is often a failed login or a sync error in the app you use to scrobble. Scrobbles may pile up locally and never reach your watch history, so progress stays stale across devices and the website. Watchlists, ratings, comments, and calendars can fail to load or save, while the website might still load normally. Problems can be partial or regional, so one device may sync fine while another gets timeouts, and the status at the top counts user problem reports over 15-minute windows rather than pinging the service itself.

Is Trakt down right now?

Why does my Trakt scrobble fail in Plex or Kodi?

A failed scrobble usually means the app lost its connection or the token expired. That breaks the sync. Reconnect your account inside the Plex or Kodi add-on, then play a short item and check whether it appears in your history. If the add-on shows 'Authentication failed' or 'Unable to connect', remove the saved account and sign in again.

Why did my Trakt watchlist or collection stop syncing across devices?

Sync problems often start after a password change or an app update leaves the old session behind. The app keeps a stale token. Open its account settings and sign out, then sign back in so it gets a fresh one. If one device still shows old items while the website is correct, clear the app cache or reinstall the app, because the local database is out of date.

Can I use Trakt without an internet connection?

The apps need a network connection to sync scrobbles and update your history. Some media players keep a local queue that can fill or expire before it sends, so some plays never arrive. Check the pending queue after you reconnect, then look at your history to see whether the missing plays landed.

Why does Trakt show the wrong air date or time in my calendar?

Your calendar follows the timezone in your account, which can differ from your phone or TV. Timezone mismatches are common. Fix it in the website's account settings, then force the app to refresh its calendar. If a show still lands on the wrong day, the network or streaming service may list a different air date for your region, and that metadata can override the usual schedule.
