Troubleshooting

How to fix Superloop not working

Superloop is up on our end, so if it won't work for you, the problem is most likely on your side. Work through these in order:

Your browser tries to reach superloop.com over your own connection, right now. Nothing is sent to us or stored.

  1. Reconnect one device to Superloop

Reconnect the device first. On Windows, open Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi and toggle Wi-Fi off and on; on macOS, open System Settings > Network and toggle Wi-Fi, then forget the network and join it again with the same password.

  2. Check the router lights

Look at the router's Internet or WAN light and compare it with the router manual; a red or off light points to a line or login problem, while a normal light means the local link is up. Keep the router where it is and note whether the light changes after a minute or two.

  3. Restart the router

Unplug the router at the wall power point for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and wait for the Internet light to settle. Leave the router alone for two minutes before you test a page on one device.

  4. Test a wired connection and your account

Connect a laptop to the router with an Ethernet cable, open Command Prompt or Terminal, and run ping 1.1.1.1; if that works, the fault is Wi-Fi or the device, and if it fails, the problem is the router or the line. Log in to your Superloop account online and check the service address and plan status before you change router settings.

While Superloop is down: what to use instead

  • Mobile hotspot A phone on another network can act as a hotspot for essential work and banking; this keeps a short-term link alive when the home connection drops.
  • Public library Wi-Fi Head to a local library or community centre with public internet if you need to send email or download a document during an outage.
  • Workplace or campus network Work or school Wi-Fi works for urgent tasks while your home line is out, provided you have access.
  • Spare mobile broadband device A spare mobile broadband device or dongle on another network covers long outages when hotspot data runs tight.
About

What happens when Superloop goes down

Superloop is an Australian internet provider that sells home broadband and business internet. Households and small businesses rely on it for video calls, streaming, cloud files, and card payments.

Pages hang first. DNS timeouts and failed speed tests often follow because the line is up but traffic cannot reach the network; streaming drops to a low resolution, cloud uploads stall, business card terminals go offline, and voice calls cut out when the broadband link fails. Reports tend to cluster by suburb or access type, so a fault can hit one NBN technology while neighbors on another connection stay online. The status bar at the top uses user problem reports counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours, and this site does not ping, probe, poll, or monitor your service.

Questions

Superloop FAQ

Is Superloop down right now?

The status at the top of this page shows whether user problem reports for the service are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. To rule out your own setup, check whether another device on the same Wi-Fi has the same problem, then try a mobile hotspot or a different connection; if the second connection works, the fault sits with your modem or local line. That isolates your side. Restart your modem and router once, and check the lights against the guide that came with the hardware.

Why does my Superloop NBN connection drop out during heavy rain?

Water in old copper lines can cause dropouts, and a loose wall socket can do the same. Test the modem at the main phone socket if you can, and log the times it drops; if the line light changes, report it as a line fault.

Why does my Superloop modem keep rebooting by itself?

A modem that reboots on its own can have a failing power supply or a firmware fault, and heat can make it worse. Move it out of a closed cabinet and try a different power outlet; if it keeps rebooting, ask for a replacement.

Why does my Superloop account say a payment failed when my card has funds?

A failed payment can come from an expired card or a bank hold on recurring debits. Update the card or direct debit details in your account, then check the invoice again; if the error repeats, contact billing support with the payment reference.

Why is my Superloop NBN speed lower than the plan speed?

Wi-Fi and old cabling can pull a speed test below the plan speed even when the line is fine. Run the test over Ethernet with other devices disconnected, then repeat at a quieter time; if the wired result stays low, log it and raise a fault.

How we track Superloop

The status on this page comes from user-submitted problem reports for Superloop, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. Each window is compared with the normal level for Superloop, so a few complaints on a quiet day don't trigger anything, but a sudden jump well above normal does.

When reports climb well above normal, the status here changes to partial outage or major outage and the chart moves with it. Superloop doesn't publish a public status page that we know of, so user reports are often the quickest sign that something is wrong on their side.
