  2. Restart the GeForce Now app and router

    Quit the app from the system tray on Windows or the menu bar on Mac, then open it again. Unplug your router for 30 seconds and plug it back in. When your device reconnects, try the same game.

  3. Switch GeForce Now server location

    Open Settings, then go to Server Location. Pick a region near you instead of Auto, apply the change, and launch the game again.

  4. Reinstall the GeForce Now app

    On Windows, open Settings > Apps > Installed apps and uninstall the app. On Mac, drag it to the Trash. Download the current installer again from NVIDIA and launch a game after you sign in.

What happens when GeForce Now goes down

GeForce Now streams PC games from Nvidia's servers to laptops, phones, tablets, and TVs, so you can play supported titles without a gaming PC. When the service fails, your active stream drops and your game library may not load.

Sign-in breaks first. You can open the app but cannot start a stream, and your game library may not load while a game you already launched keeps running. Games that check in with Nvidia's servers, such as multiplayer or cloud save sync, often fail before a single-player title does. Problems tend to be partial: one data center or one game can fail while the rest works, so two people on the same account may see different results.

Is GeForce Now down right now?
The status at the top of this page shows whether user problem reports for the service are above their usual level, counted in 15-minute windows over the last 24 hours. NVIDIA's official status page is the place to confirm an outage if the top of this page points that way. To tell whether the problem is only on your side, try another network or open the app on a second device; if other apps and sites work fine, the issue is local.

Why does GeForce Now say my session has ended?
A session can end when your connection drops or when you leave the game idle too long. Relaunch the app and try the same title again. If only that game fails, the title may be having trouble. If every game ends the same way, power cycle the router.

Why can't I play a game I own on Steam or Epic in GeForce Now?
The service does not carry every title, and publishers decide which games stay available. You also need to link the store account that owns the game, because a Steam copy and an Epic copy are separate. If the game shows in your library but won't launch, unlink and relink that store account, then try again.

Why does GeForce Now keep losing connection or stuttering?
Wi-Fi dropouts and high packet loss cause most stutters and disconnects, so try Ethernet or move closer to the router. Lower the streaming resolution in the app settings and close downloads on other devices. If the official status page shows no outage, your local network is the problem.

Why is my GeForce Now payment or account sign-in failing?
Payment failures can come from the card issuer or an expired billing method, and you can update that in your NVIDIA account. If the app signs you out, reset your password and sign in again. For store linking problems, unlink the store account and link it again.
