    From the main menu, open Online and pick a different region in the region selector before you host or join. A region with a poor route can leave you stuck on Connecting or send you back to the menu.

  3. Join from a different network

    Turn off Wi-Fi in your device settings, then join a different network or use a mobile hotspot. If the game still stops at Connecting, restart your router and try again.

  4. Verify Among Us files on PC

    On Steam, right-click the game in your Library, choose Properties, then Installed Files, then Verify integrity of game files. If you are on mobile or console, delete the app and install it again from your store.

What happens when Among Us goes down

Among Us is a social deduction game by Innersloth where friends on PC, mobile, Switch and console join lobbies to find impostors before tasks fail. You lose game night.

Matchmaking and the public lobby list fail first, so you tap Find Game and wait on loading while host codes refuse entry for friends again. You lose the lobby. If you do get in, the ship freezes mid-task and emergency meetings drop because the server cuts the link. Trouble hits one server region while others stay up, so you can switch from North America to Europe and join friends there.

Is Among Us down right now?

Why do I keep getting disconnected from the server in the middle of a game?
You drop when your connection stutters or the region you picked is full, which happens fast during peak play. Change your server region. Tap the globe icon on the main menu to try North America or Europe, then restart the app before you rejoin the lobby.

Why can't I join my friend's lobby even with the right code?
Codes work when you and your host play on the same server region and the same updated version. Match their region first. Ask your friend which region shows under the globe icon, switch yours to match, then close and reopen the app so you both load the same lobby list.

Why does it say I need to update but there is no update in the store?
One platform pushes the patch before the store on your phone or console catches up, so your app falls behind for a bit. Wait and restart the store. Close the app, clear the store cache if you play on Android, then check again because the new build shows up hours after PC players get it.

Why can I use Quick Chat but I can't type my own messages?
Guest play locks you to Quick Chat when your account age sits below the free chat limit. Create a full account. Link it in settings, confirm a birth date that meets the limit, then restart the lobby so the chat box opens for free typing with friends.
